I love Amazon too because I saw the same one a few weeks ago priced at 15.00 so I feel like I did great picking this up for less than 8.00!My son is 18 months, the recommended age says 2+ but he really has gravitated towards puzzles so if your child is younger than 2 and loves puzzles, I don't see why this wouldn't be appropriate, the pieces are big enough that they are not a choking hazard. The puzzle pieces are also educational, we do the puzzle together and we say the names of the pieces-plane, bus, ambulance ect...he enjoys that connection. His favorite piece is the bus lol and every time he sees a bus lately he has said bus! So I like the fact that these pieces are related to things we see regularly. Underneath the pieces are corresponding pictures that make it easier for them to match the piece. Puzzles are great for enhancing memory and hand eye coordination in little one's.This non-electronic toy is played with more and used more for learning and development than any of the electronic toys I have, so it is well worth the price.

I purchased this for my grandchild. I wanted to keep him occupied in a healthy way and this does just that. It requires enough effort so that I know that he's learning while having fun. Is durable and retains its colors. It does require effort but reasonable such that he's not bored with it.

I am a big fan of Melissa and Doug toys in general. In regards to puzzles, I believe they makes a few types of puzzles, the knob, peg and chuncky, all for different age ranges. The "pegs" on this particular puzzle are small. It is similar in size to the head of a thumb tac, so it is more suitable for toddlers who can finely grasp well with their thumb and index fingers, or with all of their fingers put together. The recommended age range for this toy is 2+ where as the knob puzzle is for 1+. Some folks mentioned that this puzzle is "flimsy." Indeed it is "thinner" than the knob or chunky puzzle. The puzzle board itself is about 1 centimeter (9 millimeters to be exact). But then each puzzle piece itself is only 1/2 centimeter. Another review stated concern over the peg possibly coming off, but in my opinion, it is very secure. It does not appear "glued" on rather, "nailed" in. Another review states that the layers of the piece were coming apart. I have not had that problem, even though my one year old chews on the pieces. But I can see how it can since it is made of wood layers and wood tends to expand when wet. But, I have not experienced this. Overall, admittedly, was a bit concerned over the thiness of the puzzle, but got over it since you probably don't want the pieces to be too big or too heavy to pick up with the small peg. Made for 2+ kids and will be more portable than the larger puzzle types.

The media could not be loaded. This puzzle is so cute for the little truck lover in your life! It is not super thick and easy for little hands to hold the knobs and put the pieces where they go. The trucks are colorful and clear and easy to match where they go. This puzzle is teaching my two year old patience, matching, and making things fit.
