The Harley-Davidson and Indian Wars

i bought this for a real hardcore harley davidson lover. he is obsessed with this book. not only does it have amazing pictures, but really tells you some "inside scoop" and so many facts about the wars between two huge motorcycle groups. this book is nice and "heavy" you can tell it is made of the best quality. the pictures are so clear and nice, i loved seeing his face light up!

I bought the book as a gift for my brother. I took the time to read it and thumb through the photos. What an interesting piece of history. This book will make a great coffee table addition.

My husband who is a photographer was completely blown away by the excellent photography. He said you would expect to pay $40 for a book of such quality. He liked how the photographer shot different angles of the bikes so that you could see them from another perspective. The author has written many other books on Harley-Davidson and his expertise makes him an appropriate authority on this subject matter. It is hard to choose sides in this war!

I like everything about this book! It is written by one of the greatest motorcycle writers of the 20th and 21st Centuries. The research and the photos that were used in the making of this volume are as good as it possibly can get! Wonderful book about the competitiveness of the two greatest American motorcycle companies of the 20th Century!

Good stuff, great pictures too!

Was a great history on the two brands. Had a lot of great pics that I've never seen before, even though I've spent countless hours researching the history of the brands online prior to owning this book. I was a bit surprised and slightly disappointed it didn't mention Burt Munro, particularly since there was some talk and pics on the Salt Flats.

Bought for my husband, he loves it and reads it all the time! I can't really comment on the content as my husband is the one who reads it.

A good background for the recently renewed Indian and Harley Wars. Indian has come on strong in 2014, but Harley will surely wake up to the challenge. This rivalry is great stuff, and the competition will only make motorcycling better for all riders of both brands.

Mr. Girdler is the consummate story teller- with a wonderful sense of humour, and an insightful examination of the special differences, and the many similarities, of these most special of American Motorcycles. A must read Eh~ for all who have a passion for motorcycles. Looking forward to his next book! Goggs

Engagingly written, conversational, and packed full of facts from a bygone era.

Fantastic book never put it down. It give a good insight into both companies and the rivalry between them and how they worked along side each other and then the closure of Indian. Very,very good book.
