Well made. But do not use plastic pipe to connect.
The UV unit seems very well made. Installation was straightforward. No leaks after connecting all the fittings. The only installation issue was that both of the supplied clamps were slightly too small to securely clamp around the unit. I was able to jury rig different hangers. The one installation issue that found was that plastic (CPVC, PEX, etc) should not be used to connect to the UV unit since UV light will deteriorate plastic. I used flexible stainless steel. The ballast supplied is not the one mentioned in the instructions or the video. The switch is only OFF/ON. When ON, the small green light is visible, and the ballast registers 300, which is a countdown that turns off the light when water stops flowing through the unit.It was a little confusing to register the warranty since the QR code and website was not very helpful.I will have the water tested in 2 weeks to see if my positive coliform result is resolved. The state health department strongly recommended a UV sanitizer to correct this issue.

Whole-House UV Filtration You Can Trust—Fresh, Safe Tap Water!
I installed the iSpring UVF55FS UV Water Filter on our well supply, and the difference has been night and day:Powerful UV Sterilization: The 55 W lamp neutralizes bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens instantly—no more worry about microbes in every glass.Smart Flow Sensor Switch: The UV only powers on when water runs, extending lamp life and saving energy.High Flow Capacity: At up to 12 GPM, it easily handles simultaneous showers, faucets, and appliances without pressure loss.Whole-House Protection: Every tap—from kitchen to outdoor hose—now delivers clean, odor-free water.Easy Installation & Maintenance: Straightforward plumbing hookups and simple annual lamp replacement make upkeep a breeze.Since installation, that “well water” smell is completely gone, and my wife happily drinks straight from the tap for the first time—no more pre-filtering or bottled water.Room for Improvement:None—this system has worked flawlessly from day one. Highly recommend for anyone on a private well!

Works well, but finicky installation and instructions could be better.
I have never had as much difficulty with leaking fittingS as I did with this unit. The brass fitting for the flow sensor would not stop dripping a slow drip. After three times refitting I finally stopped it with white pipe threading compound (a lot of it). I did not find the brackets particularly helpful as they seem to be a bit too small to fit unless you had it perfectly squared up. Finally, my ballast has a two position switch, not three as shown in the videos and there were no instructions provided on the operation of the switch. After some trial and error I figured out that when you see the 300 second countdown you are on auto.Overall it appears to work well. I would have given it 5 stars if proper instructions were provided and if the included two brass fitting rather than only one. ALSO CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO REGISTER IT FOR WARRANTY.

Satisfied.
We purchased an ispring UVT 55FS UV light for our home. After an easy install, a small leak was noted at the flow meter. We reached out to customer service. The service representative was professional, responsive and rectified the situation. We highly recommend ispring.

Great UV Sterilizer!
I bought the UVF55FS for my rainwater system and it's working great! At first, I thought I'd wasted my money because, after completely flushing my entire system, a coliform bacteria test came out positive. It did it again after a second complete flush. I finally realized that bacteria are pretty sticky and some will inevitably remain stuck to the sides of the pipes, even after multiple attempts to wash them out. So I decided to fill the whole system with a strong concentration of chlorine bleach and I let it stand for 3 hours. Then I flushed the entire system out again until all traces of chlorine odor were gone. I continued using the system for washing but not drinking for a few days then retested for bacteria. This time, the test showed ZERO bacteria. I even let the test incubate for a couple extra days to be sure. One thing I'd recommend is NOT waste your money on the version that I did with the flow sensor. I think the flow sensor is a bad idea now that I've had some experience and more time to think about it. For one thing, the flow sensor will not turn the UV lamp on until flow rate rises to 0.66 GPM. So if you use this mode and you run some water at anything less that this rate, the bacteria-contaminated water entering the UV unit can pass right through without being sterilized. Another problem is that even when the lamp turns on, it will take it a while to come up to full intensity, allowing more unsterilized water to pass through. Yet another problem is that the lamp may not last as long if it's continuously cycled on and off. Therefore, I'm leaving mine on 100% of the time and expect to replace it in 1 year.A few corrections for the manual:On page 4, it incorrectly states the maximum water pressure allowed is 43 PSI. Page 3 apparently has the correct spec which is 85 PSI. It's also stated on page 12: 4 PSI min / 85 PSI max.On page 4, it says to make sure the inlet is at the bottom if you mount the unit vertically because they incorrectly say it will slow down water flow. It won't slow the flow regardless of putting the inlet at the top or bottom. The only way their statement could be true is if the bottom port was left open so water could fall out with no back-pressure. When installed in your home's water system, the difference between pressure-tank pressure and the back-pressure is what determines flow rate, not the orientation of the UV unit. Orientation doesn't effect this at all.On page 8, it says "Mode AUTO is highly recommended to protect the UV lamp.". Not true and definitely NOT recommended. On page 9, it says the "system is designed for continuous operation, and frequent switching will reduce ultraviolet radiation and service life." which directly contradicts the statement on page 8. I believe this statement on page 9 is correct and you should ignore the AUTO mode recommendation. Don't even purchase the version with the flow sensor so you won't have an AUTO mode in the first place!Note that if your home experiences a power outage, unless you use some kind of uninterruptable power supply, your UV sterilizer will be off and any bacteria and viruses can then pass into your potable water system when you turn on a faucet. Mine is on solar with battery storage so is much less of a problem but I still may add a UPS for the UV unit.Lastly, I DO highly recommend this unit after seeing the bacteria test results.
