I bought two sets.
I bought these as a replacement for some previous Amazon Basics ceramic plates that were no longer available.OK so I had to google "melamine," and the answer was not much help. The description ("lightweight, durable, made of [idkwt?]") vaguely reminded me of the plates we had in my childhood that were indestructible and are probably are now sitting intact in some landfill somewhere.Folks, when they arrived, I tossed the first one on the floor in front of my one-year-old and she grabbed it and started whacking it on a chair. My 2.5-year-old picked up the rest of them and lined them up on the bench beside our farm-style table- not gently, I might add. Then the two of them started fighting over them, and at least one of them got whacked with a plate or a bowl a few times. But y'all, they're so light, it might as well have been a smack with a wad of paper. There could not be a more robust or effective product-testing lab. Within the first ten minutes I was confident my children would be passing these babies down to their babies. The pattern is lovely, and toddlers can use the plates as frisbees, drums, and, well, plates. The bowls work great as hats and sand scoopers. You can practically blow on them and they're clean. I'm not sure why people still use glass or ceramic anymore, because in my opinion this is one of the highest evolutions of tableware to have graced mankind thus far. Hats (and bowls) off to you, Amazon Basics!

Melamine is basically plastic, y’all
I wanted a set of dishes for use in our screened patio, so I searched specifically for a melamine set, hoping to find something lightweight, inexpensive, and with a summery vibe. It looks like some reviewers were confused about what melamine is - look into it before you buy. If you want something like stoneware, you’re going to be disappointed because these are basically plastic. Think of these as a sustainable alternative to paper or foam plates. These ticked all the boxes for me. They’re super easy to wash and dry by hand, I don’t mind toting them outside and inside because they’re so light, they’ll survive being dropped, and I like the pattern. For me, these are a win all around, and I’ll probably get another set or two so we can use them when we have people over.

Easy to use and looks great!
I have had melamine pieces before but once they wore out (not the best quality, I guess), I never repurchased. My husband and I have heavy glass dishes and I wanted something that was less clunky but that still looked nice. Something other than paper plates every night, even though I love me some paper plates. This is a great in between. Sturdy but not heavy, easy to clean, and it looks really pretty. I quickly hand wash whenever possible and never use them in the microwave, hoping it will keep them in tip top condition. It hasn’t been a hassle.

Great, but came with a broken plate
These are really cute, seem pretty durable if dropped, worth the price. Definitely be careful with your cutlery or you'll scratch the design (if you say.. stir stuff in them with a fork) and probably ingest the materials. 1 small plate was broken when it arrived, but I need plates, so I'm not taking the time to send it back, and it honestly comes with enough that it was still worth the price with one broken item. Only one bowl has scratched and I felt it when it happened. I'd say that's my fault for mixing up some chicken salad in a serving, not mixing, bowl. Overall, incredible shipping time, looks exactly like the picture and feels like a light, knock-off attempt at Corelle.

Returned Item
This order was packed appropriately in an Amazon box with paper support around it, but I received it with a broken plate The rim and the based had separated. The color was perfect for my need and I was very disappointed. The manufacturer’s box did not appear damaged. It was a great value for the money and I was planning to reorder, but the item was not available.

Gorgeous. Lightweight yet sturdy.
I was so excited to open the package and was very pleased to see these beautiful, high quality red rose garden plates. They actually exceeded my expectations. The pattern is so bright and very sharply defined and focused. They are light, yet strong. The bowls are on the large side, but that is ideal for me because I intend to use them for serving side dishes. The plates are generously, appropriately sized. They are replacing a very heavy set of ceramic dishes that took up so much space. These will store compactly. Just as advertised. I do not need microwaveable plates. Haven't used them yet, but couldn't be happier.

Good product
Looks nice, the product is fine, but they are what they are. I bought this to have them as support plates for barbecue and because are easy to clean and resistant but they are just that. Don’t think are sophisticated or fancy. I don’t give them 5 stars since I consider is a bit expensive product if we consider the material. Even so, I think is a great buy.

Very nice, stack good, light weight, just know they are not microwave safe.
Light weight, they stack together good, good for daily use. Comes with 4 dinner plates that are large, 4 dessert plates that are big ...my daughters and I actually use the dessert plates for our dinner plates most nights unless we have a larger meal planned like a special occasion holiday then we'll use the large dinner plates. It comes with 4 large bowls for salads, soups, cereals etcetera they hold 3 cups liquid.
