HP External Drive
The drive is not good at all. It keeps cutting off and you have to restart the drive.

EXCELLENT HP EXTERNAL HD.
Excellent HD. Sturdy and Reliable. I am a writer, and wanted an external HD to backup (all) of my work during the past 25 years. This HD is not only compact, it is fast, reliable, and will make an excellent source for backup in the years to come. This is my second HP HD which will serve as a redundant backup device.HD comes with the black cable and adapter shown below the device. However, I purchased the silver cable above which doesn't need an adapter. Excellent Device! Worth every penny I paid. I hope this review is helpful.

Stopped working after 1 year
At first, I was very happy with the HP P500 500GB External SSD. It was fast, compact, and convenient, and I even left a positive review after purchase. Unfortunately, after only 1 year and 1 month, it suddenly stopped working and all of my stored files, photos, and videos became completely inaccessible. What makes it worse is that there was no warning of failure — one day it was fine, the next it was unreadable. Attempts to recover the data have failed, so I lost everything I had trusted this drive to store. This is not the first time I’ve had reliability issues with HP products (my previous HP laptop also failed me), and sadly this confirms my concerns about their overall quality. For something as important as file storage, dependability is everything, and this drive did not deliver.I cannot recommend this product. If you are considering it, think carefully before trusting your valuable data to this SSD. Look for a more reliable brand — the risk of losing everything is simply not worth it.without ongoing fees!

Small, Fast, Reliable
I've been using this for 6 months with marvelous success. It is significantly faster than a flash drive it replaced. I'm actually using this SSD as a cache drive for an on-line application. Attached to a USB 3.0 port, it runs amazingly well. Various applications, running on a Windows-10 system, run much faster on this SSD than they did on flash drives. This portable SSD is also wonderful for moving large files between one computer and another. After 6 months of daily use, it has shown no signs of wearing out. I'm quite happy with it!

Small portable size with big results
The 500gb solid state drive fits in the palm of your hand and absolutely worked fantastic with my new 2023 MacBook Air. The files transferred so quick and so easily. The reason for the four star review is the USB-c connection and adapter that came with the drive would not work on my new macbook but I had a two-sided USB-C cable that worked perfectly. I highly recommend this drive and especially for the price.

Perfect size for a backup device
I leave one of these attached to each of my Windows computers and use it for file history backup, which is perhaps outmoded because OneDrive also backs up my files. However, having a local backup gives me peace of mind and this little hard drive makes the process convenient. Arguably a high capacity flash drive could also be used for this purpose, but I have found this portable SSD to be more stable and harder to lose than flash drives. It is large enough to find but small enough not to be intrusive when it is a fixture on your desk.

Dissapointed. 2 Bricked SSDs
Bought two of these for media back ups for my Pixel 8 and Windows computer. The first one completely stopped working after moving 25gb worth of videos and music to it and the other stopped working after trying to move files from the SSD to my PC.The first SSD didn't work at all, as soon as I got it, I tried moving my media to it and half way through the file transfer, it stopped working. I tried to format it on my PC, Mac, and Pixel 8 and it would show up for a minute or so and would disconnect. It was a 25gb file transfer of Movies and Music and it somehow bricked it.The other SSD, which was for the phone, worked fine for about a week until it started disconnecting from my phone constantly. I tried moving all my data from the SSD to my PC, so I can format it on my phone, and halfway through moving files, gave me errors again and did what the first one did. It doesn't even show up on my phone either and I can't even format it. Another bricked SSD...So the 2 SSD's I bought are no longer working and are completely bricked. I lost some data but luckily I was able to get at least HALF of it on my PC. HP SSDs are a waste of money, would never buy their SSDs again. I Basically paid 90 dollars for two cables and adapters.
