Oversized director chair

I am a very big man. I've had several chairs of this style since the bag chairs are terrible for big men. They have all worked ok, but this chair is very nice. It appears to be constructed very well. I am completely confident sitting, standing, or even wiggling around. That is something to be said for a guy that is shopping for chairs of this caliber. You won't have to worry about a tiny man stealing this one or losing it to a wind storm as this chair is quite heavy. Granted most of us big guys can handle it, it does get heavy if you have to carry it too far. I took on vacation to Florida, and I was ready to set it down by the time I got off the beach. I would say this chair should last me for a good amount of time. I am very pleased with the purchase of this Portal chair.

This chair replaced a Coastrail brand chair that I purchased from Amazon in 2021. The previous chair was also big and comfortable but the fabric and stitching began to deteriorate after 1yr of use. So far, I really like this new chair. It does lack the supportive high backrest of my previous chair but the lower backrest is still somewhat supportive. The side table has almost become a necessity. Since it is a heavy duty chair it is, in fact, rather heavy. The chair lives in the truck of my car and comes out for outdoor lunchbreaks and tailgating events. I don't ever plan on carrying it long distances. The fabric quality seems to be a bit better than the Coastrail chair. I'm hoping that it will last longer than just 3yrs.

I am actually really surprised by this product. It was not only very well built but very solid. Unlike most camping chairs these don't feel like they might collapse with every movement. Material is very sturdy and stitching is nicely done. Being a big person it is hard to find a chair that I don't feel squished in, but these i have plenty of room. Bought 2 of these and would be willing to buy more.

I was looking for a chair that was wide enough for me, and strong enough for my weight. It is actually wider than I need, which puts the arm rests further out than ideal, but better that than not wide enough. I also wanted sturdy arm rests, as I need them to push myself to standing, as my knees don’t work well. This does that as well. The back is about three to six inches too far back, so I’m either slouching uncomfortably, or not using the back rest, or the front of the chair is pressing against the back of my legs. It is a bit heavy to carry, but that is due to its all steel composition. It takes a bit of effort to open or close it, and the table takes effort to close. I would prefer it about three inches less wide, three inches less deep, and with more ergonomic opening and closing mechanisms. Other than that, it suits my needs as a chair that is big enough and sturdy enough.

This is very wide. I am a very very big guy and it gives me room on both sides. Its also very heavy. IF you read any other reviews, you should know this about this chair. I really like this chair.

Not terrible, but not very comfortable

I got this to replace my collapsing chair that likes to dig into the back of my legs. While I appreciate the portability of a collapsing chair, being a larger fellow, I have yet to find one that doesn't dig into the back of my legs and get uncomfortable after a short period. So far, this chair seems to be more comfortable and doesn't dig into my legs as much. I like the little table on the side, but wish that it also had a pouch on the other side, but that is easily enough added. When folded, this chair is not as compact as a collapsing chair, but is flat enough that I should be able to put it in the bed of my truck and put other stuff on top of it, so that should be fine. All things considered, I am pretty pleased with this chair so far and look forward to using it more in the future.
