It's neat.
I'm a massive nerd, so this excites me. just the idea of being able to power something across my house via the same network cable that it sends data on and attach the other end to a UPS, so it even works in a power cut (in theory) is pretty cool.

Easy to setup
The TP-Link Gigabit PoE Injector is an excellent option for powering devices that support IEEE 802.3af/at standards (up to 30W). Installation is simple—just connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the "Data In" port, then use the included Cat5e cable to connect the "PoE Out" port to your PoE-enabled device. It also comes with wall-mount fittings, which help keep your setup tidy and organized. Overall, it's a straightforward and reliable solution. I definitely recommend it for anyone needing to power a PoE device.

Used for CCTV does the job
I like that the PSU is built in so only the supplied mains cord is external to the unit which makes cable management easier. Does what it is supposed to do and not at an outrageous price.

Different revisions supplied over time.
I actually purchased 2 of these at different times. They both provide power to a wireless access point with no problem. They have however changed the design sent out to a later revision. The older model shows a green power light when plugged into the mains, with no change when powering a device. The newer revision shows an amber light when plugged into the mains, which changes to green when it is powering a device.I can understand how this change of status could be useful for some people.Unfortunately, this new revision runs quite warm whereas the old revision was almost completely cold, i’m not sure what has changed in the design apart from the two different led’s but something has changed to make such a difference in heat output. Thus I would be a bit weary of putting the new revision in any kind of enclosed space.I’d give the old revision 5 stars, however have to knock one off with the amount of heat generated on the newer revision.

Arrived faster than a new Ubiquiti PoE injector and at a fraction of the cost.
Perfect. Did the job nicely. The old Ubiquiti PoE injector was passive 24v, so didnt work with the new Access Point. This arrived faster than I could get a new Ubiquiti PoE injector and at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommended product and seller.
