Worth it! - Nick’s wife
Overall these chromes are great and work well!! Definitely follow the directions and use a no-wipe topcoat not fully cured. I do recommend using your finger instead of the eyeshadow applicator though. You use way less product, it goes on smoother, gets better shine, and is much faster. Using the applicator took awhile and it never got the same level of shine or smoothness that just using my finger did and I had no issues with oils on my skin that people sometimes mention. I also tried just burnishing it in over the sticky layer on a coat of color (see the less shiny nail pops marked for the chrome colors 5 and 6)- this worked well too though it has a different look. It’s more of a flaky glitter look which is also nice. Chrome color 1 is a nice halo look that went on really well over just a clear base coat (see nail pop marked clear 1)- I used the eyeshadow applicator on this one. It also looked good over black (nail pop marked 1 f nw tc)- here I used my finger and was able to get a really nice shine. The only one that didn’t work well was the gold (see nail pop chrome 3)- no matter how hard I tried it just looked streaky and more bronze than gold. My favs were chromes 5 and 6. The burnished versions of these two looked good too (see the up close nail pops 5 and 6). - Nick’s wife.

LOVE THIS POWDER!
First, it took a while to arrive, but that was not the fault of the sender. USPS had the package in my town for delivery, then inexplicably sent it to a post office almost two hours away, causing it to have to go back through the main sorting facility. Even though, it arrived intact and in good condition.I get acrylic nails put on at the salon, but like to paint them myself....I couldn't wait to try it out. I didn't even bother going to the salon to get my old gel polish removed and decided to start the process on top of my old manicure.I painted my nails black and cured them under the led light then applied the powder, opting to use the silver with blue tips, then doing a full blue accent nail, and full silver thumb nails. The containers of power are very tiny, but it doesn't take much powder at all to get the effect! There's plenty here to use again and again. It went on easily and quickly.I used a dry brush to dust away the excess powder.I didn't have NO WIPE top coat, so I used my regular top coat and let that cure, and saw NO problems with using it. The top coat REALLY brings out the shine and color.I'm stunned at how shiny and brilliant the colors are and I can't wait to try the rest. The smoother your nails are at the beginning, the better. If you have imperfections they will be amplified.-S. Dickert

Pretty and works with regular polish
I bought this for the multichrome colors, but I was a little curious about the different colors of holo too. I was a little underwhelmed by the silver holo but luckily I already had a better one. The rest of the colors are great! The gold is very chrome-y which was a pleasant surprise. The blue and pink are barely shiny at all but all 3 have a nice holo effect in direct lighting. The multichromes were all very shiny and pretty.FYI you can use this with regular polish. Here is how I did it:1. Put on your base color and wait for it to be totally dry so that it doesn’t dent easily2. Put on 1 thin coat of a “sticky” or “rubberized” base coat (I use orly bonder base coat)3. Wait about 60 seconds until it’s dry but still a little tacky. Timing may vary but don’t wait too long.4. Use an eyeshadow applicator to very gently rub it in (not included btw). Start off *very* gently and then you can use a tiny bit more pressure as you feel comfortable.5. (Optional) wait maybe another minute or two and then burnish the nail with the silicone tool to give it a tiny bit of extra shine. Don’t go too hard though.6. Use 2 thin coats of water based top coatand wait for it to dry as directed. (I use Piggy Polish because it was the only one I could find)7. Use whatever regular top coat you want.I will note that seche vite *can* still glitter out the finish a little bit if you aren’t careful, but 2 coats of water based top coat does a better job at preventing that than 1. Sally Hansen color therapy top coat is a little more forgiving.

7 out of 8 powders were beautiful, but one is defective
7 out of the 8 powders were beautiful. They were easy to use and buffed into the nail beautifully. My pink Holo powder applied patchy and dull. I followed all the directions as on the website (cured a no wipe top coat for 30 secs, used the silicone applicator). Every other powder applied perfectly fine except for this one. The pink also stained my applicator on both sides. Seems like that batch of pink has some quality control issues.edit: after testing various application methods for the pink powder, I finally got it to work (first picture shows the pink finally working). I did two coats, cured my no wipe top coat for 30 seconds, and used an eyeshadow applicator to apply the powder. it was still cloudy, but top coat seemed to mostly fix the cloudiness. still shouldn’t have to use a different application method and I still believe there is a quality issue with the pink, but I at least got it to work.
