Great buy for the cost.
Leaving 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to use these on a baby yet [our daughter is due to arrive any day now], but tested them and they absorbed a lot of liquid before leaking. They DO need to be washed several times before use to improve absorbency. Basically I soaked these for 48 hours in tide and water [they do run color so I switched the water out for fresh hot water abd soap every 8-12 hours] then I ran them through the washer 4 times, three of those times I used soap the last I just wanted to make sure ANY RESIDUE was gone. They aren't leaking dye anymore when they get wet and their absorbency quadrupled. Do no use fabric softener with these! I washed inserts in hot water, I prefer to air dry but medium heat no dryer sheets works great too. If these hold up well I will make sure I update my rating to reflect that. Just be sure to do a diaper strip method on them before you wash them the first few times and you won't have any issues. Tide is my goto for my diapers it came highly recommended by a friend because it's gentle enough for cloth diapers but strong enough to strip any residue put of your fabrics: ] Edit: two months of cloth diapering later and we just started using these for overnights. We breast feed so sometimes the two of us will sleep nurse through the night instead of waking fully. These inserts are great for overnight and super absorbent. They can usually make it from the midnight diaper change to 8am. :] they dont smell, i havent had to strip them again yet, but we also do a cycle with soap and a cycle without soap. We are about to order another 12 pack as our daughter is starting to outgrow our 3 layer microfiber inserts!

Still holding up strong after many months of use!
I started using cloth diapers with bamboo inserts when my kiddo was around 1 month old. They have saved us so much money by switching from disposables. These seem very similar to the inserts that come with the Wegreeco brand cloth diapers, and both work well. Some of the inserts have developed some faint stains that will probably clear up easily in the sun; the pocket diapers themselves are still stain-free and snowy white inside! I much prefer using bamboo inserts over the microfiber kind for several practical reasons: - they are softer on my hands when I am stuffing them into the pocket diapers every night; the microfiber feels slickly plush at first but ultimately leaves my fingertips feeling raw. - they seem to absorb much better than the microfiber inserts, which became mandatory as my baby grew. Where the microfiber ones are always sodden and gushy, the bamboo ones just expand a bit and feel damp. - I can tell more quickly when they are wet, as they feel stiffer and bulkier when wet; microfiber inserts only become a limp, soggy mess that requires me touching the liner to check if it’s wet (ew). - microfiber is not breaking down in the environment/oceans and is currently alarming a lot of people as it's getting back into our drinking water and we have no idea how it will impact our bodies over time. It might be benign, or it might be killing us (I mean, people used to use radioactive material as fashion makeup until they realized it was dangerous). So, I will try to cut down on microfiber/plastics where I can!

A must have for cloth diapering
We just started with cloth diapering and these are amazing! They do not stain easily and are nice and absorbent. We haven't had any leaks, and his skin is so much clearer than when we used disposable diapers. We have been using pocket diapers with a microfiber insert and this charcoal bamboo insert layed on top. We ended up buying a second pack and use one in each diaper. They wash easily. We run 2 cycles with all cloth diapering supplies and have no issues with retained smells!

Love, love, love.
Update: using them for 6 months and I still LOVE THEM. They’re so absorbent. I just ordered 2 more sets so I can use these are my liners in all my diapers. And use the microfiber ones that come with the diapers as cleaning cloths. I LOVE THESE!!!! My cloth diaper friends told me that microfiber eventually sucks, so I decided to look for bamboo and charcoal as she said they’re the best. These are phenomenal. Even when super full (like overnight) there’s no leakage. I do use two liners overnight, so that we don’t need to do a diaper change. 😇. When washed, they’re dry basically immediately and I haven’t noticed any smell lingering. Although, to be fair I haven’t noticed any lingering smell on any of the diapers or inserts. I do wash with vinegar and use just the tiniest bit of detergent, since I really don’t want to go have to go through a stripping process. I order two orders of these and will be ordering more once the microfiber ones completely fail me.

Nearly perfect liners!
We've been using cloth diapers for 19mo. After heeding advice from many online, we tried several different liners to see which ones were our favorite. Hands down, these are certainly THE BEST liners! Here's why: 1. We didn't get the dry time concept before the initial purchase of a variety of liners. Alva are superior in their dry time! When you wash diapers every other day or every three days, you don't want to have to dry the liners twice (many hemp & bamboo liners, no matter the brand, require drying on low for 100-120 minutes). Alva dry super fast on low. They can be line dried quickly, too! 2. They absorb more than the other liners that we've tried, by far. They hold the moisture without getting "heavy. When wet, they are still flexible so baby can move comfortably until changed. 3.They are naturally cream-colored and stay that way. We've never had any Alva diaper liners come out of the wash stained (grant it, you have to know how to wash cloth diapers). We say this comparing them to the many other brands that take on the same abuse and look embarrassingly "used" after the same wash. The only draw back to Alva is that as the baby grows, the diaper snaps change to lengthen the diaper for a continued fit of a growing baby. Alva have been a perfect length until recently (7-24lbs). [Note 7-10lbs: tuck an end over & it's not a noticeable difference to baby.] Now, Alva liners just aren't long enough. At night, if the liner isn't far enough forward, it won't catch the urine when she sleeps on her tummy. The same is true if she's on her back and the liner is too far forward. We are doubling the Alva with a longer liner (brand unnamed as the other liners are terrible). At least the longer, thin cotton liners, wick the moisture to the Alva diapers and do a relatively decent job. All in all, we still recommend Alva. We haven't found anything better.

High-Quality Inserts That Make Cloth Diapering More Affordable
These ALVABABY cloth diaper inserts have been a game-changer for our cloth diaper routine, providing exceptional absorbency at a fraction of the cost of premium brand inserts. The 4-layer construction offers impressive liquid retention that keeps baby comfortable through longer stretches, including overnight use when paired with additional boosters. What impressed me most is how well these inserts hold up wash after wash. After six months of regular use and hundreds of wash cycles, they maintain their absorbency and structure without becoming thin, stretched out, or developing odor retention issues. The quality rivals much more expensive alternatives while providing significant cost savings for parents building a cloth diaper stash. The super soft texture is gentle against baby's skin without the rough or scratchy feel that some budget inserts can develop over time. They fit well in various pocket diaper brands and one-size systems, providing versatility across different diaper styles. The trim profile doesn't create excessive bulk while still delivering the absorption needed for active babies and toddlers. The 12-piece pack provides excellent value for establishing or expanding a cloth diaper collection. Having plenty of inserts on hand means maintaining consistent diaper changes without running short between wash days. The quantity allows for proper rotation that extends the life of each insert. The washing and drying performance is excellent - they agitate well in the machine for thorough cleaning and dry relatively quickly compared to thicker, denser inserts from other brands. Highly recommend for cloth diapering families on a budget - these deliver reliable performance and durability that make cloth diapering more accessible without sacrificing quality or baby's comfort.

Better than many others
These are much better than other one’s I’ve used. I do pair them with other ones I bought that kept leaking but they protect a lot more than when I just used 2 off the other ones. They’re not too thick but absorb well. It lasts for a few hours without leaking; they’re designed well!

Perfect for cloth diapers
Holding my daughter while she naps, so figured I’d do some reviews on her baby things. I bought these extra inserts, along with the charcoal and bamboo Alva baby inserts. I love them both. These are AMAZINGLY soft and hold a LOT of liquid. I’m lazy and double up on inserts overnight so we don’t have to do diaper changes and this works beautifully. My cloth diaper friends told me the microfiber inserts eventually suck (it’s what comes with most cloth diapers) and to get bamboo to use instead. While I’m still using the microfiber, I always include a bamboo one overnight and these do get mixed in the rotation of diaper stuffing, since I have about 50 diapers and 80ish inserts. They wash super easily and don’t retain any smell. I wash the diapers about every 4-5 days. And, to be fair, I do put white vinegar in with every load of laundry that I do, so that might be a contributing factor to no smell? I don’t know, or care, bc they hold pee, they don’t leak and my 3 month old, thus far, has no issues.
