Recently a nagging lower back problem got progressively worse, and I knew it was time to make a few adjustments to how I sit; both at home and work. I felt a little desperate so I jumped right to one of the pricier options instead of the cheaper back supports that I've seen around and even tested. This item is well worth the additional money. You might think of this as primarily for a desk chair, but I actually used it first in our recliner couch. After watching about an hour of TV, I could already feel a difference. And when I stood up, a huge improvement! No stiffness, less soreness, and generally just felt better. I took it to work the next day and same results -- less stiffness after working on the computer for 90 minutes (I try to make myself stand up and move every 60-90 minutes). And at the end of the work day, I felt much more mobile and less pain than I've had in a few months. Just as important as the support, it's also very comfortable. You really forget it's there. Because of it's taller shape that conforms to your back, it stays in place. I can also comfortably recline all the way back on our sofa and even took a bit of a nap with it! I'm writing this review after about 2 weeks of regular use, and my husband and I both have decided this is a must have for anywhere that we sit regularly.

This product is amazing! I have lower scoliosis with a 10 degree separation of my L4 to L5. I'm a 33 year old Male, 6'0'', 193lbs and I have problems bending over already at my age! I just bought this in hope that, when driving 2 hours a day round trip to and from work, that I would be in better comfort in my car... and... This product is amazing!!! It relieves all pain! It makes me feel at ease in the car and I feel great in my lower back area. (Cars I've used this in: 1979 - 244 Volvo and a 2009 Honda Fit) The only problem I have is that I cannot attach this to my body at all times...so where ever I sit, it would feel this good. If you have pain in your back and suffer from Scoliosis or posture problems, this is for you! I'm sure this would work great in the office as well. My day job is an orchestra player, so I cannot bring this to my work. (distracting to the audience and not allowed)

I purchased this because my chair at work was uncomfortable. I find most chairs to be poorly designed in terms of the chair back not protruding forward enough to meet the back. When I got this it definitely relieved a good deal of my back stress and allowed for better posture when seated. I found I was comfortable and not as worn out at the end of the day with back aches. The smaller piece in the front comes off an you can move it about as you like. There is also a stretchable strap for securing it to a chair which tightens with two different buttons. There is all a small carrying handle on the side if you need to take it to and fro. It does not make your chair look goofy and it works as I thought it would. It's just fabric and some hard plastic-like substance inside. It is durable material and well made. I would purchase it again if I lost mine. I would not recommend this for anyone who wants to use it in a car with bucket seats as it will not fit correctly. This one is best for office chairs in my opinion. The company also makes versions of back rests for cars which are designed differently for that need.

We had tried the Obus Forme Lowback Backrest Support at a friend's house. We found it to be very comfortable, while supportive. My husband was slumping when sitting on the sofa and this helped correct his sitting posture, but was still comfortable.

UPDATE: My back feels like it's on FIRE. Not even that hot yet. Apparently this comfy backrest traps air, which heats up. Like walking in bright sun, with backpack, and your back gets hot and sweaty cos no way to cool off. SO SAD! Tried this in a local medical supply store. They said their demo model has been used for years. Fell in love! But they charge $99 for black version. Scored paying $45 for gray on Amazon. GREAT support. I'm training myself to sit up straighter, rather than curl forward towards computer. With THIS backrest, it's crazy not to sit back, while working typing and net surfing. Feels like a man hugging me from behind. Safe and comfy. In my dreams. I don't use the lumbar support at this time. I found it really got in the way. Keeping it nearby if I change my mind. I read people didn't like the sound of the inner plastic. I'm really sensitive to noise. Doesn't bother me. So don't let that stop you. Reviewers said you can remove inner plastic. I haven't opened it to verify. I've tried ALL kinds of back supports over the last 30 years using computers. This is a keeper!! Thanks Obus Forme. Hmmm... On the one hand -- it simply works. In my oversized office chair (and on my family room leather couch), it keeps me from slouching and offers additional support to my back. However, the material used rubs awkwardly and loudly against leather. (Perhaps not a problem against cloth). Also, it's pretty stiff. Stiffer than I'd prefer. I used it for a week and almost got used to it. But, I'm going to look for a different solution for me... Meanwhile, the small adjustable pillow seems about worthless. Not large enough, firm enough, substantial enough to offer increased lumbar support; so it just adds a minor annoyance.

I bought this for my wife, to use on a rather stiff car seat that gave her back and neck muscles pains especially when sitting in the slow moving traffic everyday. So far (2 weeks) the Obusforme support works well for her and the pains have not re-appeared, so I'd say it does the job and is worth the money.

This is simply the best backrest you can buy. I've tried others, but they were not as comfortable for my back. But, for me, the little lumbar pad is uncomfortable and useless. I just remove it.

二十年以上も前に、TVの通販で買ってから、カバーがだいぶ古くなってみっともなかったので、同じものを探していたところ、amazonnさんで見つけることができました。 海外からの輸入品?のためか、注文してから届くまでの日数が半月ほどかかりましたが、汚いダンボール箱に包まれて内袋入りで無事届きました。 中身は、昔と変わらず、使い心地が良いです。 どう良いかといえば、見てのとおり両サイド下部分がが少し持ち上がったカーブを描いているでしょ。ここがいいんです。背にあてた時に腰から少し上の両脇腹をグイッと持ち上げて支えてくれる。それも優しく、でもしっかりと・・ここがいいんです。 バス旅行や自動車での長時間移動の際に背あてとして使うと、私の場合、自動車酔いがかなり軽減されます。ほとんど酔わないといってもいいくらいです。大きくて少しみっともないんだけど、必ず持ち込んで使っています。 ふだんでも、椅子に取り付けています。両脇腹を上側に持ち上げて支える感覚なので姿勢もよく、気持ちよく疲れを知らずに椅子に座れます。 サイズは、慎重１７４ｃｍの私にちょうど良い感じでした。１５６cmの母でも不具合はないようです。 なお、写真中央の横長の丸い背あては、くっつきテープのような原理で取り外し可能です。私は使いませんが・・・ サイド左の持ち手のほか後ろ側には両サイドから椅子にとめられるように少し伸び縮ができるバンド（バンドの真ん中あたりに止めホックが付いています）も縫い込まれています。 カナダの製品で、何十年も同じ形で売られているところを見るとベストセラーなんでしょうね。 ぴったり背中ににフィットする椅子を探していた時もありましたけど この背あてがあれば、椅子本体にそんなにこだわらなくてもいいということに気づきました。 結構な値段でしたけど、高い椅子を買うことに比べたら、そんなに高くないと思います。 二十年以上愛用の品の買い替えに大満足です。
