Castle Dracula is Undead But alive !
I greatly enjoyed the novel Fang tastic . I would describe the book as a " Fresh Breath of Vampire Mist ! " to in snare your mind . Twists and turns to Dracula that echo Jonathan Harkers Diary of events in his visit with the Count . But leaves your pulse racing to turn the pages to see if Thomas has his fate sealed at the end . I myself had the pleasure to attend a World Dracula Conference that Hans hosted in Dublin last year and I found myself greatly inspired to follow his work in the future . I also enjoyed the combined chapters throughout that gave a visual image to set the scene in the readers imagination to follow Thomas through the dim lit passages of Castle Dracula .Well Done Hans for your impeccable research to bring this novel alive !

Great retake on a classic
Excellent version, I think the changes made to original classic sit well.

Strictly for aficionados
This is the Icelandic version of Dracula called Makt Myrkranna, based on Hans Corneel De Roos' translation (actually a rewrite) of Stoker's work.It begins very much like the English version with Harker's journey to Castle Dracula and then becomes a different interesting(as an oddity) version.Dracula is rather amiable and very chatty but remains menacing during Harker's stay at the castle. His stay then becomes increasingly sinister.Names of characters are changed but retain names that are close to the original-why?The first part of the story is prolonged and takes up a large percentage(almost 2/3rds of the book). The rest of the Dracula story is rapidly dealt with almost no storyline at all and rather disappointing. The hardback is laboriously put together.Copiously annotated with notes(usually Icelandic translations or interpretations of Stoker's novel) along the borders of the text. There is even a chapter devoted to the layout of the castle. This good looking book is worth getting as a hardback rather than an e-book purely as a companion to the Dracula canon. However, the original Dracula by Stoker is a far superior book
