Great Laptop, Long Battery, Runs Linux Well
I bought this with the intention of running Zorin OS and never booting into Windows. So far this laptop has been great. The screen is very nice, the keyboard is decent, touch pad works well, I have never heard the fans, external GPU does work, and the battery is great; which is the main reason I purchased this laptop. In case anyone is interested in also installing Zorin, the camera login isn't working for me even after trying some workaround, webcam works but the hello windows alternative does not. I'll report back after some time, I think its just a driver issue. The finger print driver also does not work. There are some claims that some users were able to get this working but I have not been successful. I'm not really all that interested in those options but it would be nice to get the finger print device to work. For graphics, the Xe driver doesn't seem to work that well but I'm guessing that with some time, this will change. Overall, I'm super impressed and very happy with this purchase. I can't speak for Windows as I never let it boot before wiping out of the box, due to the systems specifications the bloat in Windows likely causes some resource issues. I imagine that this is what causes most of the bad reviews on this system, outside of hardware issues, hot tip, avoid manufacturer warranties, complain to amazon and get a new one shipped... I did end up buying another for a family member (50+) and installed Zorin on theirs as well, after a week they say its their favorite laptop ever so take that as you will.

Good light, budget laptop
As a relatively inexpensive and light laptop, the Acer Swift 3 is pretty solid. It's not a heavy duty laptop and it isn't going to be a great option for gaming or video editing or anything that requires a lot of processing power, but as a general purpose laptop for surfing the web or watching YouTube videos it's going to be perfectly functional. It weighs in around 2.6-2.8lbs (my scale isn't very precise and the reading fluctuated between the two after several tries), which makes it quite easy to carry around without feeling weighed down. The construction feels about what I would expect for a computer in this price range, which is to say it's not top quality but it's not flimsy either. The keyboard is not overly clicky, although it is a bit louder than i would like. I am generally not a fan of laptop keyboards as I prefer a bit more responsiveness but all things considered it's not bad. The backlighting on the keyboard works well. The Cinebench score was a rather pedestrian 5000. But regardless of benchmarks, I have found it works perfectly well for my everyday needs. I can have a full-screen video running on one screen while surfing the web on another with no lag or hiccups. I keep several programs open all the time (including Chrome which is a serious memory hog) and the laptop doesn't have any performance issues. Considering the price point I am very satisfied with its performance. The one negative about the setup is that the RAM cannot be upgraded (I got 8gb and wanted 16gb but wasn't going to pay the ridiculous cost difference to buy it pre-installed). I also would have liked 1 more usb port, but 2 is pretty standard so it's not something I would hold against it. Overall I am very satisfied with this laptop. If you don't carry your laptop around very much you might consider looking around for other options because there are probably other more performant options around this price range at the cost of more weight. But if you want a portable, inexpensive laptop that performs well on common everyday tasks then this is a great choice.

Barely handles internet browsing. Crashes constantly
I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I would never purchase this laptop again and I would be offended it if were offered to me as a gift. I purchased this laptop as a student on a budget in 2021 and I think I paid around $700-$800 for it. Within the first week of use I started experiencing crashing problems where the laptop would slightly overheat, the fan starts going crazy and the computer just shuts itself off. This still happens to me at least once a week and it’s been over two years of me owning this laptop. At first it was just an annoying occurrence when I would be streaming a movie or a tv show and the computer would crash but then it started happening while working on my schoolwork and it got very frustrating. I reached out to acer about it and they told me I would need to erase everything on it and securely package and ship the laptop at my own expense to one of their centers which would have taken several weeks with no guarantee that they would actually be able to resolve the issue. So I obviously never sent it in because I didn’t have a secondary laptop to use in the absence of mine. So in summary poor performance, crashes all the time, I guess the display is fine but I wouldn’t use it for gaming because it can barely handle internet browsing. Also forgot to mention the speakers are absolute trash, audio is faint on the loudest setting and apparently so is the microphone I have been told on video calls my voice is either too loud or can’t be heard (while speaking normally). So yeah DONT waste your money

no noise, fast, simple to use, beautiful design, good for graphic design or video editing, not getting too hot. If you run games can become very slow and hot.

i like most things about this laptop for home use but what was not at all clear was that this comes from a usa based seller and the keyboard is usa layout which is not ideal if you have spent all you online time using a uk layout
