IT COULDN'T BE ANY BETTER !
Fiebing's Black Suede Dye (4 oz) was purchased during august of 2023 for the price of $9.98 plus tax. the product is now available for the price of $9.89 plus tax (December 16, 2024).The shoes upon which the dye was used were new. However, the coloring seemed to be a bit faded...not as saturated as I would have liked them to be. Although I have never gone through the process of dyeing shoes previously, I really wanted to enjoy these shoes...so I took a chance after watching a few YOUTUBE videos. The process of using the Fiebing's Dye was as straight forward as one would hope, and expect. The only suggestion is to be prepared before beginning as to avoid making a mess of the application, or accidental spillage. The most important aspect of obtaining the best results is to follow the instructions. After having done just that, the results were superlative. The color saturation that I desired was immediatrely appparent upon completion. The most important thing about the process is to make sure you have a suitable suede brush in order to release the nap of the suede after the dye had completely dried. If, for some reason, the saturation of color is not to one's satisfaction, it wouldn't be outside the realm of suggestions to apply another coat of dye.I'm thoroughly satisfied with the results of using this product. Howver, I can only attest to the results of having used the Black dye. I have no idea if similar results would be obtained with the different color dyes that are being offered by Fiebing's. Nonetheless, Fiebing's has an excellent reputation of offering quality products. It would be worth the effort to take a chance on the spectrum of colors offered.

Intended for Suede/Nubuck
I liked this product. Note that you might not be able to touch up black shoes without covering them entirely in a coat of this to make the color match up.Do not use it on smooth leather shoes unless you are comfortable with them becoming a slightly metallic color.I like the "dobber" applicator that comes with the product. Have used it 4-5x and it is holding up.

Subpar coverage. Tiny applicator.
I bought the dark brown to renew some lighter brown Uggs houseshoes that had become slightly discolored. I had cleaned them with Saphir suede shampoo and was not satisfied. I followed the instructions exactly. I used the whole bottle on two coats, letting them dry 24 hours between applications, and was not satisfied. They were still a bit splotchy. The applicator is tiny. The size of a Q-Tip. It took forever to apply the first coat. You definitely need to wear surgical gloves or the like to protect your hands.Overall, I was disappointed. I’ve had good luck with other Fiebing’s shoe care products but this was subpar.

Restored Uggs
I love my classic Ugg boots but the black always fades into a greyish black while the pig leather heel portion retains color better. The result is an unevenly worn out looking boot that is tired and unattractive. This is much more economical and reduces waste than spending $150+ on a new pair. The box came with a fluffy ball wand applicator. I recommend the following before starting-choose a well lit area, preferably do this in the day time- prep area with something waterproof and/or newspaper- the box recommended stuffing whatever you’re dyeing with paper balls (or old junk mail/newspapers)- use gloves!- I used aluminum foil to form a wide-based stand since a spilled jar would be a huge mess- consider an apron or wear clothes you don’t really care about just in case- dye doesnt really have any strong fumes so indoors seems fine- liquid is very thin and a little goes a long way- dip the ball and squeeze out on the inner sides of container while stabilizing bottle with your other hand- do one section by section- inspect and make sure not to miss any little spot- give ample time to dry thoroughly. Be aware it can transfer dye on other things if rubbed against it at least shortly after drying. I used an old throw away towel to rub it all over to minimize it after giving it 48 hoursThe applicator is not really suitable for very fine work. Maybe a cotton swab or possibly a small paint brush would work better for that.I finished one coat and it doesn’t even need another one given how the deep saturation of color is on the first pass. I barely used maybe 1/8th of the solution on boots that come up to my high shin so it’ll easily last until my boots decide to fade again. Very pleased my boots are renewed! I’m a little weary of doing a designer purse but believe it should produce the same result
