Works as expected . . . but read
This device was used as an additional motion sensor to my existing wired alarm system. I have had a lot of experience with Tuya and Smart Life devices. It works exactly as expected. It installed VERY quickly and easily. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that while the app notification is pretty fast (a second or two), I am using it in combination with other third party security apps (Smartthings and ActionTiles), and because of this, along with my wifi delay that happens anyway, I actually experience a 4-5 second delay. My device is in such a location that a delay of that amount will not make any difference, so I can easily live with it. If you are content with using only the accompanying app, you should be happy with this product. For anything else beyond that, it does take some extensive tweaking to get it to work with Smartthings and ActionTiles, but if you have patience and set it up properly, it works great in those apps as well. My one and only beef is with the mounting pedestal it comes with. I would have liked to have seen an option to attach directly to surface without pedestal, like with screws or adhesive foam tape. I am actually using the pedestal as a sort of tripod and just setting it on a horizontal surface . . . works for me right now. Remember, it will never be instant, it was not designed that way, because it has to run through your wifi system, it is not wired. Only a wired device is instant. I am happy with my purchase and I would buy another if the need arises.

Notification Delay Time is unacceptable for security AND control
I've read some of the other reviews on this issue, and it seems that Tuya doesn't understand what customers want. The Tuya app is shown in Play Store as less than 54MB, but the app explodes to 415MB on your phone; it will, however (and bizarrely), expand to "only" 108 MB if you move the app to your SD card after installation. Very suspicious app behaviour, and a violation of Play Store policy regarding upfront information on app size. Regarding this product's performance with the Tuya app, if your don't mind 1-2 MINUTE delays in notification, then yr all good! But as mentioned in several reviews, users want immediate response to motion sensing. Since this product only works on only one app (Tuya Smart and Smart Life are one and the same), and has been reviewed as being non-responsive on Alexa (I don't have Alexa), I would not buy this product again. I really think that it may be the app that's the problem, since I used a door sensor with the app in conjunction with the motion sensor, and the door sensor failed to trigger at the same time that the motion sensor failed to trigger. But both of those sensors failed soon after installation, and I have limited experimentation time to vet somebody else's app.

Former Battery killer, now excellent
Further edit:Much better response performance and negligible battery consumption since in place over 2 weeks. Nicely done!Edit: I am awaiting arrival of upgraded model of this device, vendor was very helpful and responsive to issue. Will update rating upon successful resolution. This unit ate 74% of the battery life for the brand new max-life batteries in less than 2 days, no thanks.

Complicated to program, but many features
At first I thought it was unusable since it would not re-arm after a power failure.. But then realized you can overcome that flaw by setting a scene to automatically arm it, in my case once every day. At least now it is usable, but you shouldn't have to do this. If they update the firmware to fix this, I would give it 4 or 5 stars.

Helps with automation but as previously stated, slow to action
I bought this item because it worked with the TuyaSmart app that I already use for several of my Wi-Fi items. The device was detected in the app following the instructions provided. There was a little hiccup when it was first powering on. The TuyaSmart app couldn't initially find it so I had to use the reset procedure to get it back in the "pairing" mode. Once that was done, I was able to find it and Alexa then automatically discovered it.The reason I purchased this item was to detect motion as I approach my media room / theater room and then to turn on the LED floor strip lights, turn on the A/V equipment, activate the roll down projector screen, and turn the projector on. All of these items are already actionable through Alexa so the motion detector provides the stimulus needed to kickoff the Alexa Routine that combines all these actions. As stated by another reviewer, the time from detection (green light flashes) to Alexa actually turning on the items is insanely slow. This has nothing to do with the Echo or my network. I have a Ubiquiti Wi-Fi setup with various Access Points throughout the home for coverage at or less than -60dBm (i.e. good to excellent coverage). This item is located very close to one of the Access Points with nearly a -30dBm rating (i.e. wireless signal doesn't get any better than this outside a lab!). It takes almost a full 4 seconds from detection to action. I can speak to my echo or execute the routine on my phone quicker than the motion detector takes action.I have to agree, there is something sloppy in the coding or in the Wi-Fi hardware. Nevertheless, I still give it 4* because it does what I needed it to do even though it does it much slower than I expect. A workaround I did was to angle the motion detector so it sees more of the approach area to give it a heads start. Dialing this in has been tough as the detection seem to change under lightning and even day-by-day.In any event, for $16 I can't complain and AA batteries were included so overall I am content and would recommend.

Way better than the battery version
Replaced the battery version in my smart home and wayyyy better. Better range, more responsive. Obviously no batteries to switch out.
