However, they are all made from the same material, so I am giving five stars for quality of product.I installed the Alloy Crank Boots (size small) on my Stumpjumper which has Aeffect cranks. They fit good. The only thing I noticed is that the hole were you put your Allen key is a little off, but the boot cover is playable enough that I was able to install it with no problem.

RaceFace A10066BLK Crank Boot Protector, Black.>>FITS NEXT R CRANKS!<<
I just purchased a new bike with RaceFace Next R carbon cranks, and wanted a crank boot protector for the cranks. So I checked the RaceFace website and they don't list a crank boot for the "NEXT R" cranks. I was going to call them to see if one of the other boots would work or not, but no phone number on the website. So I sent a email to customer service a week ago...no reply. Also I could not find any info on the inter web to confirm if any boots would fit. So I took a chance and ordered this set of boots, and BOOM they fit... perfectly! (see photos) If you have the RaceFace Next R cranks, do not hesitate to order these boots. I hope RaceFace will read this and update the their website so other Next R crank owners will be informed.

Functional and Stylish
These things are pretty useful. I started to see some wear and tear on the ends of my cranks and decided to give these a try. In addition to protecting the crank ends from rock strikes, they add a bit of color to an area of the bike that doesn't have much of that. I gave 4 stars only because they do not fit snugly right off of the bat. If you heat them up (in boiling water or with a heat gun-careful not to melt) you can put them on the cranks and then dip them in ice cold water and they will shrink to form perfectly to your particular cranks. I would definitely suggest them to any and all Mountain Bikers that spend any amount of time in rocky terrain.

Really Cheap - Won't Hold Up
I put these on my SRAM Stylo Eagle cranks. They fit a little loose, but good enough. I lost the left one on the first ride. A couple of crank strikes on rocks (technical terrain), and I noticed that it was gone after the ride. If they won't hold up to crank strikes, what good are they? They're made of pretty cheap plastic - like they kind found on a cheap Dollar Store toy. I would totally avoid.

Put grease under mine.
I like them. Based on the reviews here, I put a bit of Park Tool grease under mine to protect it from the gunk that can build up under it. I definitely recommend getting a color to add flare or visibility.

Not as shown - disappointed
There's no rocket science in this product. It's simple, and it works in saving your carbon crank arm ends from most hard contact. I had these on my last bike and loved them. So I didn't even think about it when I got a newer bike and needed some crank arm protection, other than now I have SRAM X01 (Eagle) and previously I had Race Face. These don't fit exactly on SRAM, but close enough. What was aggravating to start with is before I placed my order the delivery time showed 3-5 days. AFTER I placed the order it suddenly jumped to 10-14 days. I groaned & rolled my eyes, and sucked it up. Today they finally get here (no notification either #Amazon), and of course, the color is not even close to what was displayed. Like I said, I had these before on my last bike which was a Yeti. The color was very close to Yeti teal. My new bike is also a Yeti in their classic teal color. I thought these would look great at the tip of my black SRAM cranks, but the color is something like a green ocean color. I don't know, but it's definitely NOT the color displayed or that I had before. I don't know if #RaceFace changed the color, or #WorldWideCyclery just thew in whatever they had laying around, but now I have to decide whether to pay for return postage and go through the pain of returning these and waiting forever for a replacement that may not be different, or a refund of less than $10, or just eat it and be pissed off that I got taken. If you own a Yeti or Santa Cruz in a teal color and think these will go well with it, save your money. It's not even close. I could have bought black ones at any of numerous local bike shops around me and not have to wait weeks to get them. Gee, thanks. You've just won yourself another dissatisfied now ex-customer. I won't be ordering these again.

Check your fitment
Bought this to fit on my merida with Shimano Deore 20speed cranks well they don't 2mm gap either side. However they do fit my sora R3000 cranked gravel bike so not a complete waste. Road cranks chunkier than mtb ones

Great protection.
If you (like me) have a low bottom bracket position, then these are perfect for saving your crank ends from damage. Easy to fit, cheap to replace, what's not to like?
