Nice weight, balance, and features.
Oh she is a beauty. All steel, and made here in Rockford Illinois. For demo you cannot go wrong with an all steel hammer. I have wood, fiberglass and all steel. I buy only Vaughan and Estwing. This model has a nice side nail puller and is nicely balanced. I prefer the blue nylon grip to the leather (though I have a 20oz leather as the leather handle is REALLY nice), as it provides more shock relief, and lasts longer. I also want to point out how nice the claw is as it is thinner than a standard claw hammer, and it's at an optimal angle. The price is really nice as well to add the cherry on top !

The perfect hammer for me.
I wanted one of these things for years. I have a heavier wood handled framing hammer that I’ve used, but I never liked it. Too heavy, too large, I just don’t do a lot of that kind of hammering plus I am terrible with a hammer to begin with. Now don’t get me wrong, I am a master craftsman. I spent 25 years in Hollywood building, miniatures for movies and I have a degree in industrial design with a specialty and product design. This is an excellent design. All one piece of for Steel, I just can’t imagine it ever breaking no matter how many times I miss and whack the neck on some Piece I’m trying to nail. The weight is perfect too. A little lighter than my framing hammer, I feel I have much better control and suddenly I’m better with a hammer. Just a wonderful design. I just hope the rubber handle material doesn’t crack overtime. I’ve seen some that did . Otherwise, a little expensive, but such a nice piece in the hand.

One of the best hammers
Made a great gift for my boss. They are on the heavier side for a 19oz but feel so good! The grips continue to get better with time. I was actually able to bend one but i was doing something I should have been with it. That being said I think it made it better! Perfect all around!

it's a hammer. made in USA.
1. it's a framing hammer 2. it's made in USA That fit the first two criteria. The third was, can I afford it. It's not cheap. There are cheaper Vaughan hammers you can get from hje (also made in USA), but I needed something sooner than later because my wood-handled one broke. I don't particularly like the blue paint. Too flashy. Eventually it's going to scratch and chip off. A steel handle made of steel can't really lose the steel color or finish. But a no-paint version was not available. It looks like a weekend warrior hammer. But that's all I am. So, it fits.

Heavier than you may think
Overall it’s a very nice hammer for a very good price. It’s USA made and feels really great to swing—much better than I’d expect it to anyway. The grip is also surprisingly nice. Do note that “15oz” is just referencing the weigh of the head. This hammer is actually heavier overall than my “20oz” fiberglass handle craftsman hammer—the estwing being about 29oz total and the craftsman being an ounce or so lighter. But the Estwing is balanced really well and feels like it’ll last forever. My only real complaint is the finishing quality isn’t perfect. Mine had some chips in the paint/finish and the head is 100% perfectly symmetrical. All in all it’s great for the money and I’d recommend it.

It's that swing action
This company has been around for a long time. The 19oz is great, just the hammer itself is a little heavy. I do concrete work and this hammer holds up its weight for sure! Worth the money because it will last a long time too. The claw is great for ripping tough nails out and pounding in nails with minimal effort. The handle is nice and smooth to hold onto for great grip.
