Q: For hanging between trees, what is the minimum needed distance, & also what is the maximum distance?

I'm sorry but I bought this hammock for my grandson and it has not been put up yet.

Q: Is the metal eye reinforcement supposed to come out of the loop? I'm wondering if this is a defect.

We are sorry for the problem you encountered. You should not clip the carabiners directly to the metal eye to prevent it coming out.
