How did I not know about these for decades?!! Trying to iron shirts so there are no creases is challenging. I saw these and decided to try them out. They work great. You know how you can’t quite get all the areas of your shirt fit around the ironing board? This solves it! Check it out.

Many of the other tailor's hams are made with part polyester fabric, so one cannot use a hot iron on them. This set is cotton and linen, and works well with a hot iron. The tubular one is slightly askew, as if it were not sewn or the stuffing eased into the tube properly. It still mostly works. The main thing is the linen cotton aspect which is very helpful.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wish this product was more firm or more stuffed or so—it feels a little more like a stuffed animal, though is still functional. I would probably use it more if it was firmer, would be more impactful, but I just use my ironing horse instead. They are good to have just in case, but I use my other pressing products more

Do NOT buy this!! A dressmaker’s ham is supposed to be made from a natural fiber like cotton and are super firm, almost hard. They’re usually filled with packed sawdust or something similar to help form seams with heat and pressure . This ham is made of polyester (plastic) and stuffed with poly fill (plastic). First off it is entirely too soft to aid with structure creation via pressure and heat, and second plastic does not disperse the heat properly for this and also compacts, distorts and MELTS under high heat/steam. These things combined render this completely unusable All in all a very disappointing purchase. I got what I paid for, something cheap. Lesson learned.

To make the perfect curve of a mask or shoulder seam everyone must have this. It takes the stress out of having to rearrange fabric to get close to the seam. Comes as a 2 pack of size and shape. High quality, long lasting. Reputable seller.

Not only did the set help me iron darts, sleeves, and collars more easily, the large ham is also really good to pin my work to when I'm doing a little hand stitching to baste or finish seams. It was also useful when I needed to braid cords- I made a beaded braided headband and the large ham was a good size to pin my work and keep it in my lap while I worked.

Work well.

These are for ironing seams on a curve. They need to be sturdy to work well. These were both gently stuffed with fluff and are soft like a teddy bear. They won’t work for ironing.
