Great Towels!
Violet Purple - Bath Towel Set - purchased February 2024Great towels!! Soft, durable, and absorbent. I have 3 teenagers and these towels have really been put to the test. After 17 months and close to 100 washes, they still look new. They’ve even been washed in hot water and tumble dried with high heat, multiple times. I’ve never had a problem with pilling, no fuzzies anywhere, no noticeable fading, and all seams are intact. Very good quality! Definitely recommend, and will be buying more to add to my collection.

40 by 80 Bath Sheet, Chocolate Brown
I got the 40x80 100% cotton bath sheet (towel), made in Turkey. I put my purchase in the heading and here because Amazon does not display what the reviewer bought when reviews are searched (nor does it allow one to up-vote reviews in the search result - they are absolute idiots). (Amazon also convolutes reviews of different products which distorts the ratings - absolute idiots ten times over. Not to mention the Q&A can now only be accessed as a search result, one can no longer browse through it - I've answered hundreds of customer's questions which Amazon has decided to crap on.)It is a solid good towel and plenty thick to use as a throw blanket which is what I wanted. I had been using a vintage Cecil Saydah oversize beach towel (once thick 100% Egyptian cotton) as a throw blanket until it finally developed holes. It was by far the best and biggest beach towel I've ever had and its long warm (but not bright) colored stripes looked great when folded in the living room. Sometimes you don't quite realize what you've got until it's gone. So I choose this big brown towel sheet as its replacement. I measured the towel when I got it, before washing: 38" wide at each end although (strangely) 39" wide right in the middle; the lengths (along the sides) were 80" and 81" (yep, when folded over, one long side was a full inch longer than the other) and the towel down its long middle measured 80 1/2".I then washed it (using a shorter easier machine cycle, with mostly dark items that I wanted darker, and also with a light item I didn't care about darkening), and I dried all on regular (not lower) heat. Before drying, there was a good amount of lint on the accompanying items but it got removed by the dryer. The light colored item did not get noticeably darker. Other reviewers mention issues with color contamination (which didn't affect me) and large amounts of lint even after many washes. I saw about the amount of lint that one would expect from a big heavy new towel - nothing unusual there. Here are the measurements after one wash: width at ends is now 36 1/2" (shrank 1 1/2" from 38) yet the width at the middle only shrank 1/2" (now 38 1/2" instead of 39); the long sides now measure 73 1/4" and 74" (was 80 and 81). I calculate roughly 3100 square inches before washing and 2765 square inches after the initial wash and dry for 11% shrinkage, which would be roughly 13.7% "shrinkage" from the advertised dimensions. After the big shrink, this towel is actually the size I desired (and still far more substantial than the towel/blanket it's replacing). Finally, while I have no way of verifying the advertised "600 GSM Heavyweight," I can attest to it being heavy and thick which is also what I desired. This chocolate brown color has a strong hint of burgundy which is detectable when next to my more standard browns (which are all lighter too until this towel fades). There is no brand name and it seems (per the reviews) that some (relatively few) people have gotten lesser quality towels with differing issues, and the various items sold over the years are not exactly the same, so be careful. The price just dropped 15% for Black Friday, so at $25.46, I ordered a second bath sheet. Update: The second bath sheet was just delivered and I did a quick (before wash) measure. I get the exact same width at the ends as the first towel although it's even wider (significantly) in middle width, and the long ends are 3/4" different from each other instead of a full inch, but the overall length is the same. I am good and happy with my new towel blankets.

40% Polyester, Handle with Care
Only 60% cotton, 40% polyester.. Wash in cold water. Tumble dry on low. Heat in the dryer will cause discoloration and cause the polyester to break. They're nice towels, but not what I thought I would get when I purchased them.I bought these bath towels as part of a set including wahcoths and hand towels. These towels are a different color and a different material than the rest of the set. The difference is noticable in appearance and feel. The should be washed and dried separately from the other items in the set because they require special care. The high reviews that people are puzzled about may be because the other towels available on Amazon are either more expensive or poor quality. These seem like very good quality, and came out fluffy and absorbent. I had a normal amount of lint from the dryer. I bought another 4 bath towels after receiving these. I'm happy with the towels, but I wish Amazon would not allow sellers to misrepresent their products.

Two Grey 40 x 80 Bath Towels - pleasantly satisfied. Detailed Review.
Some Important information/ concerns near the end, if you're interested...Greetings from North Texas! (Yes it's customary to indicate which region of the state we are located in) Are you ready for a Detailed / probably longer than needed Bath Towel Review? If so read on . . .I was somewhat hesitant and skeptical prior to making the purchase for these, probably because of how large these are and how fair the price seemed. I bought them about a month ago and when the package arrived I opened and inspected them and everything looked ok. I was going to get them in a brown color since that's what my previous towels were but the grey ones were slightly less expensive and I'm not too concerned with aesthetics for bath towels.I already knew I was going to have to wash them multiple times to break them in with the removal of the excess cotton fibers. I did initially wash and tumble dry them 5 or 6 times (with cool water, less dissolved minerals keeps them softer), as each time I would dry them the dryer lint trap would be roughly 80% full (again this was expected). There also was some left over wet fibers in the washer so expect that also - you can just do a quick rinse cycle if it's excessive or wipe them out with a damp cloth if you need to be extra conservative with your water usage. I also trimmed off a few loose threads with scissors, nothing excessive. After that I would use them once, then wash again, and repeat that process several more times. I've probably washed them, in total, around 12-14 times now and I still get a noticeable amount of lint after drying them although it has diminished significantly. They are now slightly more coarse in the over all feel compared to when I first opened them but that's just how cotton towels are. Every set of cotton bath towels I've ever owned have been that way, so to me there's no surprise there. They are performing as expected. As far as the size goes I've never owned bath towels this large, 40x80 - wow. I'm a fairly large man over 6'ft tall / 250+ lbs and the size of one towel is more than enough for me. Even for really super Giant sized guys I think one towel would be adequate for them to dry off their entire body.My Judgment: Would I recommend them to Family or a friend? Yes I would. They are holding up quite well, so far. They seem to be constructed well and I have my fingers crossed for the long haul. Also, considering the price and the size of these towels - they are by far the best value in terms of cost that I've ever made for bath towels (I've been around a few decades).Bonus Advice / ConcernsI will point out that while you're washing bath towels, or any kind of clothing for that matter, you should NEVER use chemical fabric softener - it's way too much to go into here but basically it prevents your towels from absorbing water like they're supposed to and worse than that the chemicals you're using will bond with the cotton fibers and then will be in contact with your wet skin. Please give that some thought and let that sink in . . . If it still doesn't make sense to you PLEASE do yourself a favor and take a few minutes to research it online and hopefully you'll understand why it's not a good idea. I'm fairly confident that at some point in the future these types of products will have to change their ingredients due to health concerns of the consumers that use them. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already illegal in some countries and/or States (CA) here in the USA.
