Q: How do you get the flag on the pole? Both ends of the top piece are large and curved so I can't slide the flag on through the hole in the top.

Thread the flag on the open ended hook and slide it around the curve to diaplay.

Q: Would this stand up in sand?

I don’t know. I have it in dirt and it stands very well.

Q: How do i get the clips on the pole to hold the flag? I can't figure it out and instructions are not helpful!

I put the clips on the side of the pole and clipped them to the side of the flag to hold it in place. The one shaped like a flower goes on top after the flag is on the top bar. I hope this helps.
