How do you mount the light to the wall? I'm trying to figure out a way to hang this on a dorm room wall without damage before buying.

Included in the box are 2 wall plugs (plastic sleeves that go into the drywall) and 2 screws. I think because of the weight of the item and the fact that you'll be touching it to turn it on and off it needs a secure mounting. Those easy on/off stick things probably won't do the job, you will need to drill holes in the wall. You might be able to fill them up with toothpaste at the end of the semester, but might not get your deposit back.

How often do you have to replace the batteries?

We use ours for about 11 hours a night and had to change the batteries every 2-4 days (with new Duracells). I thought it was defective and exchanged it, only for the new one to do the same. I now use rechargeable batteries.

How does the sticker look on colored walls?

It looks the same as it would on a white wall. We have my sons on a red wall and it looks fine.
