"Thank you for your interest in KIND. At KIND, we also share your concern about environmental practices and I am pleased to inform you that our palm kernel oil provider is a certified member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil). We use palm kernel oil in the bars containing chocolate or yogurt, because it keeps those coatings from melting during transport and is a healthier alternative to hydrogenated oils that contain higher levels of saturated fat. It is also non-GMO." Hydrogenated oils do not contain more saturated fat than palm oil. They contain trans-fat. There are other sources of oils they can use which would only minimally impact cost of production.

Q: Do they really curb appetite?

Think that depends on your appetite. 170 calories do the math. Works for me when I'm playing golf, didn't have lunch and about 2 hours until the 19th hole.

Q: how many grams of sugar? how many carbs? why is it so difficult to find nutritional info??

The nutritional values change from bar to bar - this particular one dark chocolate cherry...) has 14g of sugar and 22g total carbs. The Almond Walnut Macadamia with Peanuts (protein) have 7g of sugar and13g total carbs. You can also go to kindsnacks.com and get all the nutritional info for all their products. I understand that Amazon could certainly have this info on their site but when all else fails go to the product's home page. Hope that helps.
