DO NOT BUY...yet
This is not an Assassin's Creed game. Plain and simple. I was in highschool when the first Assassin's Creed game came out, and it was great. The vast majority of people talked about it positively. It had such a cool story, two stories actually. You had the past story revolving around the Templars and Assassins: the Templars trying to gain control of humanity (for semi-reasonable motives) and the Assassins fighting against them because they thought humanity should have free will no matter what. Then you had the modern day story line which tried to connect the past to the modern, and prevent the events of history from repeating.Sadly, after Assassin's Creed 3 (which I personally loved but apparently the majority of people disliked), that was essentially the end of the Assassin's Creed series.**SPOILERS AHEAD**At the end of Assassin's Creed 3 they kill off modern day story line protagonist (Desmond Miles). This is when the series died/ended for me. After this, every game they made was just a historical game that only had the bare essentials of the previous overall story arcs attached so that they could label it "Assassin's Creed" and sell it to you on name alone.I haven't played Rogue, so I won't commit on it, but I have played every other main entry besides Rogue.IV/Black Flag was a fun game, but was it an Assassin's Creed game? Absolutely not. It was just a good looking pirate game.Unity was "eh" at best. Not horrible, but farrrrrr from good. And again, was it an Assassin's Creed game? Definitely not. Just a below average game set in the backdrop of the French Revolution.Syndicate was also quite bad. Was it an Assassin's Creed game? Nope. (Are you getting the hint yet?) Just another below average game set during the English Industrial Revolution. Then comes, "the change". Ubisoft completely overhauls the series and turn it into an RPG starting with Origins. I personally wasn't a fan of the change, because well...Assassin's Creed is not an RPG. But after a decade of making the same style of game and the last 2 games specifically being well below average, I suppose you gotta shake things up to keep the series fresh. Honestly, just don't get me started on Origins. Again, this is just my personal opinion, but I hated it. Not because of the shift to an RPG but because the overall story was just straight trash on fire. Plain and simple. Oh and again...is it an Assassin's Creed game? You should know the answer by this point. A gorgeous game, with decent content after "the change", but with the worst story line in the whole series.Odyssey comes along and restores things slightly. It's a really fun game. The most fun I've had with an Assassin's Creed game in a long time. Absolutely gorgeous, but wayyyyyyyyy too big. Like omg, they really over did it with this one. If they would have cut about 33% of the base content it would have been fantastic, but it's just overwhelming with the amount of stuff that there is to do. The story was fun though. Is it an Assassin's Creed game? ..........it's a fun game to play.Finally...Valhalla. At the moment it's not that great. A lot of glitches and broken things currently that will take a couple of patches to get everything running smoothly. They also changed/altered a lot of things that you will have gotten used to in Origins and Odyssey. I personally didn't like these changes and found them to make the game less interactive, but maybe others didn't. I'm really not liking the story so far either. The viking setting (vikings are the new zombies in terms of popularity) and conquering England is cool and interesting, but the story is pretty bad so far. Maybe it will get better by the end. Is it an Assassin's Creed game? Please don't make me say it anymore. Not even close.Whether you're a long time fan like me or someone who has just recently joined the series since the RPG change, or are thinking about making this your first game in the series...I'd recommend waiting until the game is on sale for a discount. By that time a couple of patches will have come out to fix a lot of the bug/glitches and the first DLC will be close to dropping.Overall...an average at best viking game that's only worth buying at a discount.

Lacking in Heart
I want to go on the record and say that I love the Assassin's Creed games, and most of the time I love each new game that comes out. I like Assasin's Creed Vallaha, it offers a lot of new and exciting things but I do NOT love it as I have with the last few games. The game feels empty, there are a lot of things to do but the world itself feels very empty and dull. Side missions are now quick boring world events, that last maybe a few minutes at most. The Map is large but pretty plain, cut and dry with very little to offer. I often feel like I'm wasting my time, trying to clear the map because there isn't anything to keep my interest going in terms of exploring. Maybe, Its because we are in England (AGAIN) for most of the game after being in such amazing locations in the last few games. It's a little disappointing because Vikings themself traveled around to other areas far from home to raid and claim new land for themselves, and now you're just mucking around in England for the most part. The voice acting for everyone but Eivor is subpar at best, the other characters feel lacking in life, Ivarr is really the other character that I felt brought something rememberable to the cast of characters. The music is pretty boring for the most part, there isn't really anything remember about which is a real shame because they could have done so much more because Vikings used music as a way to pass down tales. Don't even get me started on all the issues with glitches, its honestly a mess at times but at least these will get patched as time goes by. I'm very disappointed in the lack of execution of this game, it needed at least 6 more months of development. However, there are many things I do like about the game and I want to highlight what I do thoroughly enjoy about the game. Eivor is fantastic as the main character (I love both the Female/Male version of the character) which really helps bring something to the story itself. I do enjoy the plotline, it is interesting despite being in England again. Learning more about how the Hidden Ones function against the Order of the Ancients, at least to me helps me understand the world of the series a lot more. The usage of Norse mythology is fun to see incorporated into the world and helps to keep it interesting. Building your village is a lot of fun and while I wish it was more customizable, I do enjoy building and watching it grow throughout my progress.Overall, I do like the game but I feel like it lacks the heart that it had in the past games. You do get a lot of playtime, so I can't complain that it doesn't keep me entertained and I do not regret buying it. However, I do feel like it could have had more time in the creation process to help make it feel less empty. That's why I am giving it 3/5 stars because it feels so empty and pretty unrememberable as a game in the series. Whereas, with both Origins and Odessey I felt completely immersed within the game.Update 8/21: With the recent expansion packs, I will say the game overall improves with more interesting plot lines and areas to explore.

Major glitch prevents end of game
Major glitch prevents end of gameUbi soft won't fix this either. Character named Hytham accepts medallions throughout the game; medallions are from the Order of Ancients (bad guys) you're supposed to kill. If you turn them in as you get them, the game will not proceed to the final series of quests. You must wait until all but the very last, top of the Order, is dead. You get some special gear and the name of the top Order member, "Father," and how to find him. There are tons of forum complaints about this and not a peep from UBI.This glitch is true on all platforms judging from online forums I've read.Five stars were it not for this glitch. I had to lose about 30 hours of play time to be able to go back and finish the game.

garbage game
Usually I love AC...However this version is just robbery. You can only buy the steelbook edition for a disk so spend more$. Then the gameplay itself. AC is about walking around and usually just destroying your enemy. This one they got technical. There is no easy win, you now have to get killed by almost everything walking. And even when you are a higher level, that makes no difference, they still 1 swing kill you.My other gripe is you buy the game, but then need to season pass just to keep playing. If they wanted $100+ for a game, just price it at $100, dont say its $60+$40+$10
