I have three older cats that don't like to share very often. This item was no exception! They all wanted to check it out when I placed it on the floor next to their cat tree. After they all took a go at it, one of the cats decided to use it as a bed and now refuses to sleep anywhere but on the mat or on my furniture. It's the perfect size for a big cat to sleep on and the other cats like to scratch on it when it's not occupied. It's a good buy for the price. Just take it out of the wrapper and lay it on the floor. The cats will do the rest. Seems well made and I expect it to last for quite a while.

My cat loves this mat! She started scratching and rolling on it the moment I put it down. I wish the adhesive on the Velcro strips was a bit more sticky but otherwise it’s great! A better cleaner alternative to those cardboard scratchers for sure!

I see it has tape to use when it is mounted on flooring, but I need to find out how I can secure it to carpet. My cat immediately got on it (I did sprinkle a little catnip as it was different than her corrugated scratchers). But as soon as she tried to scratch, it started slipping back and forth. Don't have an area where it can be used on flooring. Put them next to high back chairs so I bought three. Will have to hang onto the corrugated until I can find a way to secure.Give up as not able to use on carpet as little teeth on bottom doesn't do anything.

My daughter's cat loved to scratch the bedroom carpet, even though he has multiple "approved" scratching areas/toys. We purchased this pad hoping he would scratch it instead of the actual carpet. Our other cat loved it immediately. She scratched it right away. My daughter's cat took some convincing, but he is now using this pad the majority of the time...he does have some moments!

Some of my cats like and others could care less. They like the other sisal scratch pad better (don't remember the brand). My biggest complaint with this is the deceptive thumbnail that shows a longhair cat is able to fit on the mat with room for one or two other cats. That's what I was looking for. But what I got was a tiny dinner placemat sized thing. Usually I'm good about reading the details, but this time I was in a hurry and they got me because I didn't pay attention -- Not worth sending back.

At first I thought my cats didn’t like this and I’d wasted my money. They didn’t use it at all! Then one day, I bought some new catnip (From the Field Gamma Blend - great stuff) and needed to put it on something, so I brought the mat to a more open area and put the catnip on it. The cats have been using it every day since, and it’s significantly decreased the amount of carpet-scratching they do. I also love that it’s portable since I’m moving soon! Overall very satisfied.

Goose loves it. Not only does he knead it he also sleeps on it!!

At first my cat was a bit skeptical but once she knew I was okay with her clawing it it’s become her favorite spot !!
