I was given a Magic Decanter the other day to review for the blog.I did up an article about the differences in decanting and aerating a while back, and well I have now done both and found that there really is a difference.With the Magic Decanter tou get the best of both worlds without the wait.There are two venting holes that aerate and decant as it pours into your glass.Now there are other versions of this decanting system that have a stand but this one is hand held.I took a $4.99 bottle of budget wine and before running it through the magic decanter it was bitter, and the aroma was very perfumed.After it had been poured through this, it took on a whole new flavor.The aromatics changed from perfume to floral, and the overall taste seemed more balanced and mature.It have it a better bouquet, enhanced the flavors and smoothed the finish.That budget wine, after having been decanted and aerated became a wine that I would expect to go for $15.As you can see from the pucture to the right, it comes with a display stand, a mesh screen, an a 'satin' draw string bag.This is the perfect under $20 gift to get someone, especially if they are a wine drinker LOVER.I received this product for free for an hobest review.

After receiving this wine aerator for review, three of us gave it a try and agreed that there was a difference in the taste of the wine "before" and "after!" I am not by any means an aficionado of fine wines, but I certainly do have a sense of taste that tells me there was an improvement in what was processed through the aerator. I've been told that sulfites found in wine can cause headaches and allergic reactions, and an aerator can assist in reducing them. While some people say sulfites can't hurt you, some people report allergic reactions. Whether that is science or opinion, I couldn't say! But I am happy with the performance of this aerator, and would certainly consider it nice enough to give as a gift to any wine drinker. I'd recommend it to anyone desiring an improvement in any wine.

This is a really nice portable wine aerator. It's made from a hard clear plastic. There are six settings. 0, which is no oxygen, all the way up to Six which is super oxygenated. I wanted my wine to be super aerated so I tried it on setting number six. You just choose your setting twist it to said setting, hold the aerator over your glass, and pour your wine through it. DO NOT USE SPARKLING WINE IN THE AERATOR! they already have oxygen in them that's why they are bubbly and if you try to do that you are going to end up with a bubbly foaming mess! Using the aerator made my glass of wine a lot lighter and crisper. I could really taste all of the different flavors.
