Does this contain sodium laurel sulfate?

It contains sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is nontoxic. But you may be confusing it with sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), which often is contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a human carcinogen. The names are similar, but the synthesis is different. SLS, found in Ecover, is made by treating lauryl alcohol (from coconut or palm kernel oil) with sulfur trioxide gas, fuming sulfuric acid, or chlorosulfuric acid, then sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonic to neutralize the resulting acid; SLS has no caricinogens in it and is non-toxic. SLES, on the other hand, is made by treating lauryl alcohol with ethylene oxide, a human carcinogen; this ethoxylation step often leads to 1,4-dioxane contamination, another carcinogen. It's easy for the two to be mixed up, but SLS and SLES and VERY different compounds.

This says fragrance free but fragrance is listed in the ingredients? Anyone know if that’s just for the other version?

Ecover Zero doesn't have fragrance listed on its label. Lime Zest and Geranium bottles do, however.

Why is the fragrance free so much more expensive? So ridiculous!

Have no idea. Does not leave a smell in plastic containers used for food storage.

Anyone using this to wash fruits/vegetables with, before rinsing them well? after all it's non-toxic. f/v wash products are relatively expensive ...

If you choose to use soap, this would probably be your best choice. Remember, a little goes a long way. Or you can clean fruits and veggiesby washing them in a basin of water mixed with a little vinegar.
