Soft, so they go through the holes but lay nicely. Good quality.

Much wider than expected but color is very accurate in the picture. It matches the shoes I bought, and i dont mind much that its super wide. Im bothered more about the durability of the strings. two small snags on the strings from the edge of mt fingernails, when tying the laces, are very noticeable. it unravels easily.

Short - Laces were right length, color, and thickness/width. A few frayed spots cost a star.Long - Got some new skates and decided I wanted to lace them the way we did back in the day. Saw these and a few others and after reading reviews I went with them. Got here fast, material was lighter than I expected but that made them easier to lace =) Length was right, color was right. Look just like I remember on my old skates and sneakers. The minus one star was because there were two slightly frayed areas right out of the bag. Snip snip and the little loose threads were gone but still a defect and because it was on both laces I think it was more than just bad luck. I WOULD buy them again though.

Better than I had expected. Do not listen to the 1-2 negative comments here. These laces are a super great deal, of good quality and delivery time was quick. You will NOT be disappointed.

These laces are much wider than the photo. I just opened mine and they are too wide for what I wanted.
