Great price & sound, but some controls are a bit confusing
This works well. The knobs on any of channels that only take a 3/4" input can be confusing, but for the price, this is a great mixer. You will need a pretty decent amp to make this very worth while, but I have plugged in my earphones to practice bass, and then run tracks in on other channels and this device is perfect for that. The sound is incredibly better than the vox personal amp, so I'd recommend this and a decent pair of headphones for anyone wanting to really practice.I did plug them into a pair of Behringer 1000 watt PA speakers and the sound is great. I have no problem recommending this item

Great for small mixing jobs
I write reviews of equipment and software for a popular pro music magazine. I test things in my full studio but I like to have access to them while I am writing my review at my desk. The pro audio card I have in my desk PC has no analog stereo audio outs, only S/PDIF - AES/EBU Toslink or RCA. When I test audio plug-ins I need to get an audio signal out. Also, if the product I'm testing is an external device I need a way to handle its audio as well. Finally, I need to get analog signals to my powered monitors above the desk. This mixer meets all of these needs, works with both +4 and -10 signals, and has excellent audio characteristics in its line level paths. The only caveat is that it is a Behringer product. Because of the way their Chinese quality control program works, completely assembled units aren't tested (dont ask!). The result is that Behringer products that you receive and which work correctly will function for a lifetime (well maybe not a lifetime, but I have very complex Behringer stuff that I've had over 14 years, including a digital mixer with flying faders that works as well now as it did 14 years ago). So, don't be too surprised if you get a dead one (I average about 1 dead Behringer product for every 10 I buy! That being said, Amazon's return product policy is great.

Perfect Solution for Home Recording
Just getting into recording music at home and wanted to be able to record vocals and acoustic guitar. This mixer provided the preamp and Phantom power necessary for many microphones. The price and that feature convinced me to give it a try. Meanwhile, I've connected a keyboard and edrum kit to the mixer and realize how great the mixer actually performs. In short it does what a mixer is supposed to do (blend tracks together) and doesn't introduce any additional noise or ground loop hum that I've always dealt with in the past when recording through a computer. If I had it to do over I'd probably get the 12 track Behringer simply because I have too many inputs now that I've connected everything I own (iPod, etc.). I don't use the EQs because software give more control over equalization.Pros: (see above)Cons: No power switch, brighter than a small sun blue power led, connections are on top rather than on back which makes cable routing rather ugly.

Great bang-for-buck
I bought this to replace my existing mixer, a Behringer EURORACK UB1002, which had a switch that stopped working. I determined that the effort required to replace the switch wouldn't be worth it. At this price, the mixer is almost disposable. This appears to be a newer version of the earlier UB mixer with just a different silk screen job on the metal chassis. As others have mentioned, the "on" light is pretty bright. It doesn't bother me, but black electrical tape will fix it. Also, the lack of a power button isn't a problem for me; I have a master switch that controls my studio monitors, subwofer, and this mixer.I use the mixer for my home recording studio. I don't record through it; I only use it for playback into my studio monitors. The 4 stereo inputs are for (1) ProTools MBox Pro interface (2) PC audio, (3) CD player (4) keyboard. This leaves the two preamp channels for any instruments I want to plug in just to practice.Although I don't record through it, I think the sound quality is good enough for home studio or demo work. Obviously, this will not compare to a Neve mixing desk, or other high-end pro gear. But for a home studio, it is very clean and noise free.Behringer has found a niche in the low-cost/good quality area. This mixer provides tremendous value for the price paid.
