The material of this wine stopper is acrylic and Oracal Vinyl (outdoor Use) which makes it waterproof. The item should not be washed in the dishwasher, though, but is safe to be hand washed with mild soap and a non - abrasive sponge to prevent scratching and damages to the vinyl design. I strongly advise not to clean with bleach or cleansers that contain chlorine. Do not expose to immerse heat and do not microwave. The item will be sanitized for hygienically reasons prior to shipping
