This is a single-sided stone. It has grit on one side. We do have the UltraSharp DC38 combination stone. It has 300 grit on one side and 1200 grit on the other. It is ASIN B01FPI7J6O.

Q: How flat are these plates? Has anyone taken a dial indicator to them to measure?

We check them with both the granite surface plate-jacks-dial indicator method and the machinist's straight edge-feeler gauge method. I find both methods give the same result. They typically test less than +/- .001 over the FULL length or width of the stone. Given that each diamond particle on a 600 grit stone is roughly .001 in size, that is a pretty tight standard.
