Micro Ammo Can Geocache (V3)

Received this item today to wrap and put under the tree...turns out it will be a stocking stuffer. The can is very tiny. It might hold a piece of bubble gum. Also, it does not have anything printed on the side of the can as pictured in the ad. We will use it to hide a cache/log and maybe a small trinket. Not sure that it is worth $9. It does not seem like the latch will hold up to a lot of people opening it.

A miniature version of the real thing, this little ammo can is small enough to fit in Small, Medium and Large cache containers. It even has a clasp that allows you to open it and put a tiny trinket inside. It sure makes for some fun geocaching, especially if you hide it and then say "It's an ammo can." Geocachers are then looking for a full-sized ammo container, and when they find this they can't help but laugh out loud. I highly recommend buying this little guy. It's just way too much fun to hide or trade!NOTE: This is NOT a trackable, although you could attach it to a Travel Bug and turn it into one. :-)

This was perfect for a geocaching hide! I looked into other micro ammo cans, and be aware that other ones offered on other sites are much cheaper versions of this. They are essentially a plastic box marked ammo. We wanted to be sneaky and say 'just an ammo can in the woods', and it would've felt weird if the cache wasn't of great quality. That's definitely not the case with this, it's metal and has a great feel for it. It even has a mini latch like regular ammo cans. It really is just a miniature version of a real ammo can. Perfect for a sneaky fun hide!

I got this because I am a big fan of using ammo cans for my caches that I hide, and I thought this was the neatest little thing I had ever seen. just plain fun. has a little foam pad on the underside of the lid that I am sure helps it to be weather resistant.

Purchased this as a replacement for one that I received as a gift. We use this as geocache that is located right near our back yard and we get consistent positive feedback about it.The first one we had lasted quite a while outside in a mostly protected location, but the hinge at the back eventually rusted off. The top still latches and stays in place, but I purchased a new one just in case.

The latch mechanism does not work very well and is somewhat loose and fragile. That could be done in a more robust fashion. The seam is not particularly good with these either. A f=un diversion, but unlikely to last in the wild over the long term.

It's cute. That's for sure. I just didn't realize it was the size of a foil container. My bad for not reading but if you think this is full size- keep looking.

Latch in not functional, so the box wont stay closed. Otherwise it is a nice quality piece to go on the geocaching shelf
