Easy to install, easy to remove for cleaning
So far, this is the best option I've found for my parent with dementia. I tried grip bars, rail bars, even a squatty potty. This is very easy to install, some toilet models you don't even need ty remove toilet seat. It clicks in, and then you adjust the tension pressure with a knob. This Feels more sturdy, stable, easy to clean and if you have a Very small space to share with someone who Needs bathroom assistance, it's way more compact and functional than big rails or grips that Can detach. 10/10.

Very nice product and easy to use
Excellent product. At 98 my mom broke her forearm and found it very difficult sitting down and getting up. Found this on Amazon, ordered it; it arrived next day. Opened box, installed it in about 4 minutes including tightening one wing nut to hold it on the bowl. If it’s awkward for anyone else it can be easily removed and reinstalled. Easy to clean - just use toilet-scrubbing brush and squirt-on cleaner. No need to scrub too hard. Very budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to buy this for anyone who needed it. My mom is fine BTW. She’s 99 now 😎

My Wife Likes It
Her height is 5'6" and her weight is 105lbs medicated 100 or less not medicated (Crohn's Disease). I have to remove the raised seat in order to flush my toilet( I have one of those slow majestic flushes) if you have a faster more powerful flush you probably would not need to remove the seat. She likes the grab bars as high as possible which means I did not press them down all the way as per the instructions. This seems to be working out just fine. Taking the raised seat off and on is also a very easy process. I have never received a simpler product to install. This was a great purchase experience.

Helpful after surgery!
Extremely helpful after hip replacement surgery! Only thing is that I could not secure it to my toilet and had to use it carefully. Not sure if that was due to user (me!) error or the shape of my toilet. But it worked well regardless and helped in my recovery.

Great product!
My husband has COPD and cancer, therefore we try many items to help him in his daily activities. Easy to build and easy installation. I am 63 and have had no issues with building or placing it.

Too high installed on a comfort height toilet - I'm 5'4" and it's Edith Ann height for me
This 3 star review just pertains to my specific situation, but here goes: I am a 5'4", 135 lb, female who just had a hip replacement. Our current toilets are all "comfort height" (~17"h) but it was recommended that I get a raised toilet seat with handle assists to help during my recovery. I bought this based on the ease of installation and the Drive reputation. We'd already had the need to purchase assist products for our parents in the past, and the Drive brand was always very reputable and of great quality. The quality of this is of true Drive standards. Strong, sturdy, well made and very easy to install. What didn't work though, is that adding 5 inches of height to our 17" high comfort height toilets means that my feet don't even touch the floor. This raised seat adds too much height which was even more painful for my new hip, than sitting on just the toilet without it. Truly, I felt like Edith Ann (if you're of a certain age, you know what I'm talking about) with my feet swinging off the floor. In addition, it's not clear in the photos, but the opening of this riser is quite a bit smaller than the full opening of the toilet without it. The seat part is very bulbous and that cuts down on the opening size by quite a bit. At the risk of TMI, a normal seat sort of cradles your behind, but because the seat area of this one is much larger, it feels like you're just sitting on a hard plastic seat. Ours is an elongated toilet and the opening that this riser has is even smaller than a round toilet opening. We also have a hand held bidet spray connected to our toilet and this smaller opening would not be conducive to using the spray either. The last thing to mention is that the look of this (even tho it's not meant to be a permanent seat) is very "institutional". It just looks like a seat that a care/rehab facility would have on their toilets. I will shop for another riser in the 3" inch height range. Hoping to find one that is just as easy to install with assist handles too. If your toilet is lower and not already of comfort height, then this may work for you. If you're in the 6' +/- height range, then this might also work for you. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. * * update: check this one out. This is the one I decided on. It's a 3" riser, looks and feels like a regular seat, and is just as easy to install. A bit more expensive, and without handrail assists, but completely worth the extra cost. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C65N2786?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Holds Securely and Easy Installation Without any Tools
I purchased this raised toilet seat for a family member who has just had a hip replacement. Although, she does not live with us, I tried this elevated seat on our own toilets, while she was still in rehab. Even though it did not fit over our plastic toilet seats, it did fit securely when placed directly on the porcelain bowl. Therefore, there is the option to remove the existing seat for a good tight fit. The 5” raised seat is an assistance to stand from a seated position, along with the padded arms as an extra help for support. Additionally, there is the option to remove the padded arms if they are not necessary or in the way. No tools are necessary for installation as it has a twist knob to secure on either the existing seat or the porcelain toilet bowl, and with a weight capacity of up to 300 lbs. In the front of the seat is the twist knob that controls the tightening mechanism and this is how this raised seat attaches to the bowl. The arms attach to the seat by sliding in the side with a self-locking feature, and no tools are required to insert the arms or to remove them. Due to my own inexperience with this type of an item, and since I was not sure how this would work, I made a short video to explain exactly what to expect. As previously mentioned, this toilet was not to remain in our home. Therefore, I left our own ‘existing toilet seat’ on for my demonstration, although if the elevated seat is only for a temporary situation, then the existing seat could remain in place.

Secure and easy to clean
Lightweight and strong, easy to install and clean. Be sure to order the correct style, my toilet is standard round and it locked on like a charm.

If you are short like me 5 foot, it works but my feet don't lay flat on the ground, the 5 inches is a bit more than what I would like, but it works.

The handles are an added bonus enabling one to push oneself off the throne when there is nothing close by to grab. Suitable especially for a bulkier person.

Did not fit the toilet properly so was unsafe to use. I could not send back so went in the bin.
