This is an adapter cable. No more. No less. It either works, or it doesn't. In my case, it did. I used it to connect a standard XLR microphone output to a wireless microphone transmitter to produce a PA system with a lectern microphone in the front of the room transmitting wirelessly to a mixer in the back. No cables running through the room. Note that different manufacturers use different pin wiring schemes. Make sure the cable you buy matches your equipment. (This one is made specifically to match Shure transmitters.)

Just needed a backup for fragile headworn mic; this cable makes an ordinary XLR mic work with the Shure bodypacks.

Worked as advertised. Simple design, I would have liked to see some shrink wrap at the string relief points (weakest points and greatest area of failure) where the cable feeds into the connector, hence minus one star. A well made product.

In my case it didn't work but I will reconfigure so it will. As sold, this cable is an unbalance connection, one conductor shielded wire between the connectors. Shure equipment is probably OK with that, but our Telex wireless transmitter is not, requiring true balanced wiring between the two connectors, as XLRs are normally wired. I was led to purchase this cable since the product description shows the wire as 3-conductor shielded, which would probably be connected as balanced and work fine. Unfortunately, being 1-conductor shielded, it doesn't.

This is a great alternative for a wireless handheld mic
