Works great!
I got a new high efficiency washer and dryer. They are great but when the washer starts it turns the water off and on repeatedly. You can hear water pulse throughout my house. This would probably happen at least 15-20 times each cycle. I imagine that this puts a lot of stress and strain on the plumbing.A friend has told me about hammer arresters and I ended up choosing these. They were easy to install and worked right away. No more loud thumps and shudders through my pipes. I’m hoping these will save me from big repairs in the future! So far so good Highly recommended.

Stops water hammer from new washing machine.
Our new washing machine uses very, very little water, but what it does draw from the pipes causes a lot of water hammer. We discovered this ** after ** installing the heavy washer in a tight closet -- and there is nothing in the washer manual that warns about water hammer. So, if you are getting a new washer anytime soon, plan ahead for a device like this to minimize water hammer. What was worse, the water pulses into the washer in short bursts, so there was a lot of banging in the pipes. We purchased and installed these and have had much less noise from water hammer.East to install, although we replaced the included flat rubber washers with O-ring styles for a more secure seal and resistance to our chlorinated city water.Hopefully they will last a long time as they were not inexpensive -- offered at about $27 at the time of our review or about $13.50 each.

Failed after only 7 month.
After first installing 7 month ago, still had water hammer sound but was not as bad as not having it at all. Previously, the more expensive Sioux brand removed all water hammer sound but purchased this cheaper Solimeta brand to save money but only lasted 7 month before loud water hammer sound returned. Switch back to more expensive Sioux brand and all is fine now. As they say "you get what you pay for". After removing Solimeta brand, the plunger inside was completely blocked/unmovable and failed.

Here is what I liked
I ordered these yesterday afternoon and was so surprised that they came so early in the morning. As soon as I saw that they were here, I ran out and grabbed them, where they had been so carefully placed just inside my gate! I opened the package and thought, "no time like the present, so I ran outside and grabbed two pliers. A small one and a big one. I grabbed my teflon tape and immediately pulled the washer out from the wall to reach my water shut off valves. Access was the hardest part, oh and figuring out which way to wind the teflon tape so that I didn't unwind it putting on the male to the females. I made sure that they were tight but not overtight so I didn't cut through the washers. I then turned on my water and had 0 leaks. I then turned on a washer full of towels and no more banging and rattling that is hard on the pipes, the tankless water heater and the washing machine valves. If you aren't using these with these issues you are wasting money, as those items will need service or replacement sooner than later. Of course the true test of how these work is time. I have seen some reports of failure after only a few months. I wonder if the water pressure is so high that they are blowing them out on a regular basis and wonder if they should be installing a pressure reducing valve at their meters. 65 pounds of water pressure is more than enough for your house. Pressure reducing valves will also save all of the things listed above.

Worked great - lasted 2 years
This did the job, absorbed the shock wave and quieted the water hammer (bang) when the washing machine shuts the water off. Easy to install, Purchased in 12/21 and it quit in 12/23. I'll re-order the same pair. The damage that can be caused by water hammer is too much risk to allow it to continue.

Significantly Restrict Water Flow
Bought these for the washer. I have 1/2" lines that supply my washer valves and those have 1/2" stainless lines that flex to the back of the washer. These attached to my supply valves where they come through the walls. But then there's a problem: These water hammer arrestors have such a small orifice for the water to travel through that it takes my washer forever to fill up now. It just runs and runs and runs, trying to get enough water through this arrestor to fill the machine. These were recommended for washing machines and came in the AA size. Way too small for water to pass through efficiently and timely. Not sure what you'd use this size for but not working too well for me. Has the hammering stopped? Yes, because the water has a pea-hole opening to pass through The opening is literally about the diameter of a drinking straw. Ever try filling your washing machine through a drinking straw? Get these if you want to find out what it's like. Would not recommend. Going to have to find a different model or brand.

Works. Easy to Install. Stops Banging Pipes
My new washer has a very cheap fill valve. It violently opens and closes the hot and cold water inlet. This action caused my copper water supply lines to bang, making it sound like Norm Abram was building a house in my basement. I had two relatives have a plumber put these on costing them mid-$100’s to do so. If you have a pipe hammering issue, these solve it instantly. You do not need a plumber. If you can install a garden hose on a spigot, you can install these. Very easy. Call a plumber if you install area is not easily accessed.
