Defy Me: 5 (Shatter Me)

This book had a lot going on but was well paced and comfortable to follow. I loved the love in the book and the perspectives, the drama and reunion and happiness was a joy to read. I love Aaron & Kenji so much and feel so sad the series is almost over and I want them all to have their happy ending and yet never stop reading about them.

I rarely leave reviews but these books are amazing. Such brilliant reads and filled with unexpected turns. I will miss them when I've finished.

Well that was a whole set of twists and turns I did not see coming. Never the less I absolutely bloody loved it. In my wildest dream I never anticipated such a phenomenal story. Up till this point Julie... sorry Ella's story has been pretty epic and a huge whirlwind. From being imprisoned in the asylum to first meeting Warner and being his captive. To her meeting Adam and James and every one at Omega Point. To where they are today, never imagining they would ever come this far. I really didn't expect to fall in love with this series of books and the characters as much as I have and Defy Me only added to that. I love that even when you think you know where Tahereh is taking the story she complete shocks and surprises you with the direction she does go in. Defy Me gives you more. More background. More drama. More hope. More Ella. More Kenji. More.

Great Present great book

Hmm it was fun at first then it got a bit boring and safe so I lost interest but I'll finish the next book to see how it ends for POM.

I haven't read the other four installements, so I'm reading the fifth installement Defy me with a fresh set of eyes. The first few pages I was glued to with Juliette with powers making her kill six hundred people all at once. What a surprise Juliette isn't who she thinks she is. I think personally that the author Tahereh Mafi has worked really hard creating these cast of characters and writing five installements. I know for a fact it's really difficult writing one book let alone writing five installements. My full appreciation to Tahereh Mafi writing all the five installements. As I've enjoyed reading Defy Me, I would like to at some point like to read from book one Shatter Me.

I do not even know where to start! Reading this series was definitely a delight! I thought since it was YA that it was going to be cheesy and not very well written. I have to say that I am blown away! Tahereh Mafi definitely sucked me in with this series! I read all the books as well as the novellas in under 2 weeks! I couldn’t put them down! I loved the twist of the unexpected love story forming in the earlier books! I love how she was so intuned and on the nose with the emotions and feelings of all the characters and not just Juliette (Ella). She had every character and their different lives and she captured them beautifully. I felt what they felt! at times i got aggravated, excited, sad and you could feel that the love and all the emotions were captured! I loved that she was able to make the “love scenes” appropriate and tasteful.. leaving room for your imagination take hold without giving you all the details. This story line was amazing! The twist of the apocalyptic feeling and the impending doom of the reestablishment! Then throw in the aspect of super powers! Well done! I am utterly blown away by her writing skills! I often find it hard to get into most books from outside my normal authors, but this is one I definitely recommend all the time i was reading to everyone! Very well edited! Only a few mistakes i saw with that! But it was very well put together and written very well! Definitely glad that i found it at goodwill! I would definitely read this! Old or young it is just a well written series and it will stay with me.

5/5⭐️ I was so scared not to like the next “trilogy” in this series but oh my god. I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK. It was absolutely amazing!! After the ending of Restore Me I had no idea what to expect. I felt betrayed by some characters and thought everything went wrong. I had no idea how this book would go but it was incredible. Lot’s of new characters in this book that we got to know more about. So many secrets were revealed, so much action and WOOOOOW. I truly loved it. I love all the action and all the hardships the characters went through. So many times I found myself being completely thrown of and confused only to have another bomb dropped. I was constantly in surprise and couldn’t put this book down. It hooked me the whole way through. Lots of emotional moments between Juliette and Warner and it was soooo cute and heartfelt. I was so involved and just couldn’t wait to see what happened with them. They really are cute and one of my favourite couples now. There was a lot more Kenji POV and I’m not mad about it all. I love knowing his thoughts and seeing how emotional he is. He cares for people so much and really feels emotions intensely and I enjoyed seeing him go through different struggles. Im so glad I enjoyed this book and I don’t understand how people didn’t like it!! Honestly my favourite book is Ignite Me but this one is very close. I just like seeing the characters really go through something and this was so intense and I can’t even explain my feelings other than I loved it!

No damage towards the book

I got it and it was unwrapped and really dirty, when i tried to clean it the cover ripped. It had a lot of cuts and also dirty on the inside.
