DeWalt quality as expected
DeWalt quality as expected. Lightweight for carrying, heavy duty for function. Fast to deploy, easy to level, easy to mount on. Fine vertical adjustments are completely on you, no little crank like it's lightweight counterparts. This isn't a deal breaker though, because those lightweight gimmicks are not worth the money. For that, you're better off buying a $20 camera tripod because that's all the name brand tool tripods really are anyway. 99% metal construction, the only plastic are the leg release levers, quarter inch mounting adapter, and buckles on the carrying strap. The only negative I can see is a 3-year warranty versus lifetime, but I don't ever expect this beast to break. If you're on the fence, this is the one to buy.

Awesome!
The quality and fit of the DeWalt tripod were and continue to be far beyond my expectations! My 1980's era Lienz transit T20 device with triangular base fit PERFECTLY on the triangular head, as if made for it. To emphasize, the quality and workmanship of this tripod are way and far beyond what I had expected! You will not be disapointed. One thing I would like is some kind of latching for the legs or a Y brace to prevent accidential collapse due to slippage. But NONE of the other manufacturers offer that. Perhaps it is this way to allow the surveyor to work the tripod level on unlevel and rough topopgrahical ground. But I love the quality, build, color -- everything! Thanks to Amazon for offering this product!

Sturdy, well made tripod
Bought this along with a grade rod for a construction project. The tripod comes with a nylon strap and fastener around the bottom of the legs to easily transport it and keep legs from flying open on you.I found it easy to set up, the sharp tips dig into the soil and the flared portion keeps is stable in soils or in stone like you find on a jobsite. Each leg extends at the flip of a lever and a bubble level lets you know that you have it level or close to level. My rotary laser levels itself up to 3.5 Deg. so its fast and easy to set up the legs and mount the level. There is a large brass screw for the tool connection, comes with a small black plastic cap to keep the threads clean, and has a bent metal piece at the end of a short chain to hang whatever you need to keep handy. I found that the legs are sturdy when I pushed on it, they don't easily come loose, its easy to adjust but not so heavy and cumbersome that it is a chore to carry and set up. I've seen other professional trades using this too. If you were a trade that had to use this every day, such as an excavator you may want to look to a larger tripod, but for everyone else this should suffice. I especially like the nylon straps to hold it together and carry it around. Keeps it from getting awry in my car with the other tools.

Heavy Duty tripod
Great heavy duty tripod. Doesn't hold great for wood floors but it's designed perfect for an outdoor construction site. Easily adjusts and works as it should. Price was reasonable for the quality.

Sturdy and easy to set up.
Well made and sturdy. Easy setup with no movement once they were set. There is another model that is very similar, but not as beefy or sturdy.

Great for distance laser
Not good for tile laser or in smaller spaces does not easily adjust for balance or height. Legs do not lock when folding out, but do lock when extending. Good tripod overall and well made. Just make sure your application isn't a confined space or you don't need vertices adjustment. It does not move vertically very much.

Built tough! Works great.
This thing is built like a tank. Tough and solid. Should last a few lifetimes!
