Are you KIDDING ME!!!!!!!
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!! I had no idea this type of product even existed! I found it by accident looking for some laundry soap with less chemicals in it since I have special needs kids. I had low expectations but thought I would at least give it a try, and boy am I impressed! I have been using Tide Hygienic Clean and always have smell left in my teenage boy socks and deoderant left in my shirts and sports bras even with adding vinegar. I took all my worst clothes, threw them all in together with just this ball, and they are CLEAN! No smell, no residue on clothes that have been through the wash cycle many times over! It's just all gone! I uses tap cold water and just this ball! I'm telling all of my people! This is AMAZING!!!!

Color me surprised
I remember seeing something, I think on TV, years ago about a new technology for washing clothes that didn't use soap of any kind. It never caught on because people want suds, fragrance, etc. Maybe this is that technology. I'm an old woman and generally am washing stuff I wore once. Today I had a kitchen towel I used to clean up some BBQ sauce a couple of days ago and a few other items that were stained that went into my second load using this ball. Everything came out clean! I'm really kind of amazed. The ball is supposed to be lemon scented, but I don't get any fragrance, and don't care. Everything is clean and smells like nothing but clean clothes. Oddly, I have a problem with stuff coming out of the dryer full of static electricity even though I've used softener. Clothes today came out of the dryer soft and with no static with no softener or dryer sheet. Plus, I don't believe soap really gets totally rinsed out, and leaves some residue in your clothes. Obviously, no soap residue with the ball which is making colors seem a little brighter, maybe. I'm not sure. Whatever, I'm really pleased.

Great alternative to chemical detergents
I first "charged" them in sunshine, per instructions. They worked well with lightly and medium soiled clothes. Clothes came out bright, clean and odorless. Even better if I make sure any crustiness from food, dirt, etc., is removed first. I washed a dirty mophead using them and it got most of the dirt out. Where I find I need to resort to detergent is if there are oils stains. Pretreating does not seem to be enough to make sure the stain is removed when using the balls. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Cuts way down on plastic usage!!
I bought these in November, 2022 and just reordered a second set in March, 2024. I live with four dogs including a Newf, a Golden Retriever, a Parsons Russell and a mutt with a dense coat. All three walk, dig and sleep in dirt and mud. It’s just a mess around here. But clothes and towels come out clean and fresh. Recently my washer has started to smell a bit so it’s time to replace my first order. I don’t know how many loads of laundry these washed, at least a minimum of four loads a week for 15 months-uh oh, a story problem. But they earned their keep. I have recommended these to many friends and those who shifted away from traditional detergent have been equally pleased. I am surprised at the negative reviews. But the best part is the amount of plastic containers I haven’t purchased or thrown in the trash. One friend with four kids raved about the money she has saved on detergent by using these. I have saved money too, but to figure that out is way above my math skills.

Eco-Friendly Laundry Balls: Promising but Problematic
I tried Eco-Friendly Laundry Balls once, adding Downy scented crystals to ensure a pleasant clean smell. I was pleased with how well they worked — the clothes came out fresh and clean. The idea of eliminating detergent and all its packaging really appealed to me. However, the balls left some grit in the washing machine, which made me worry about potential wear and tear on the washer. As much as I like the eco-friendly concept, concern over the grit has kept me from using them again.

THE SMELL OF PERFUME IS OVERWHELMING
I suffer from MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) and cannot handle any perfumes or toxic chemicals!! I purchased these balls hoping I could get rid of the laundry detergent, even the 'unscented' still has smells I cannot handle. When these arrived - I COULD SMELL THE PERFUME THROUGH THE BOX!! It was so horrible, I had to ask my wife to throw this away in our large trash can out by the curb. I couldn't even open the packing box, and couldn't fathom the idea of putting them in my car to drive to a UPS return center. Even the other items that shipped with these had to be thrown out - I lost a lot of $ trying these things!! The contamination was horrible!! There is no mention of how strong the odor is in the product description. Instead, they make these sound like they are environmentally friendly?? BUYER BEWARE!

As someone who is allergic to most washing powders and liquids I find these perfect. They wash every bit as well as any detergent and are so easy to use and store.

I've saved money through less washing detergent, although I still use softener. There is no scent otherwise and it feels like you haven't washed the clothes. It's a mental block I think. Anything stained still requires a pre treatment as it would with a normal detergent. Will continue to use, but still sat on the fence. I should really do a standalone test for a more informed review...

I’ve used laundry balls for years. They last for ever and so a good job of freshening up clothes. These ones are good quality and come with a refill. They don’t come apart in the wash as the new ecocover ball does. A few tips 1) add cleaning bicarbonate soda or soda crystals to the wash as well as this softens the water and just helps with sweat smells especially in gym gear 2) don’t expect it to act as a stain remover or to bleach!! You still need to treat clothes as you would using other detergents 3) I personally don’t leave them in the machine as suggested as they can smell so I always take them out between washes/open the machine for a day before I put them back in

I like the fact that it is ecological but it doesn’t wash well.
