AN EXCELLENT SERIES
AFter World War III the world is divided up differently than it is now and things work differently too. Here in America there is a selection that chooses the next Queen but the contestants for the crown aren't Royal. The Selection is done on TV with the world watching the outcome. There is a Caste system in effect that makes it almost impossible for the lower Castes to get any chance at all.Throughout the Selection America Singer is one of the contenders and no one knows why. During this series you learn who America is, what her edge is, about her life before, about her love before, and how she keeps herself in the running when she is from one of the lowest Castes. This series pulls you into a world that is so different from ours and yet America uses her brain to keep herself safe from other contenders as well as the grooms father. She will steal your heart and you will be pulling for her though out the series. As she takes down one problem another seems to pop up and Maxon doesn't give you any hints as to his feelings as the Selection proceeds from one book into the next until the end when he seems to date everyone but her,Like Divergent and The Hunger Games you learn to love America from the start. She uses her brain to save herself time and again.

Inspiration
It was slow getting into this book, but after a few chapters it changed. I find it an inspiration for the future and how people evolve over time.

Pleasantly Surprised
So I purchased this set even though I had already read book 1, but I knew I wanted to read the entire series since the 1st book sucked me in! I then turned to audible audio books because I found it easier for me to listen and still cook, clean, and work so I had to purchase books 2-5 again! I guess I really liked it to spend that kind of money on it! I was sold on Book 1, 2, & 3, but then my heart sank as book 4 began. I'd hate to spoil anything for anyone so I won't say specifics, but I was a bit upset at the beginning of book 4. As the book progressed I kept finding myself smiling as the chapters flew by and at that point I realized I had gotten sucked back in!! Finished all the books in no time, with great thanks to audible and I was pleasantly surprised at the ending. Very happy a Facebook ad suggested that I'd like this series, cuz they were right. :)**Side note** I didn't actually read this book set since I switch to audible so I don't know if there are chapters missing at the end.. sorry :(

The Bachelor Meets The Hunger Games
I enjoyed these books. I read all three in two days. The writing style flows very well. The author was very descriptive allowing you to easily be able to visualize every setting and every character. I felt the characters were very well defined. I do feel that the story was reallyyyyyy drug out over the course of three books, and it didn't need to be that way. I was eager to get to the end and felt like these books had a lot of "filler pages" to require three books, when I think it honestly could have been told in one book. But, it was a good read. One thing that disappointed me, is I often kept reminding myself that this was a new series and that I was not reading The Hunger Games. This series really seemed to take THG story line and twist it in a new light. It really was like a more modern version of THG. The two love interests of the protagonist. The different "castes" seemingly much like the districts from THG. Even the Tv host reminded me of THG. It seemed like a more glorified, fancy version. But I still enjoyed it, it just made it seem less original. It's honestly The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games.

Great value for the money!
Loved the books, initially bought for my daughter, but I ended up reading as well. Great set, books are awesome, likeable characters, amazing storyline. Sucks you in until you realize it's the last page and there's none left!

LOVE LOVE LOVE
These characters were AMAZing. Great writing and wonderful storytelling. There is a difference between the two. Also, I love the boundaries put in place to where the characters experienced heat and those first flurries of love yet nothing dirty or crass. It's rare that I find a book where I'm so involved that it keeps me up at night, wondering about the characters. From one author to another - thank you for sharing your gift and bringing great stories to light!!

Everything I wanted in a Book Series
I have fallen in love with the entire world created by Kiera Cass - Illea! There was some predictability in the story line but not enough to make it obvious and the entire time I just felt comforted by the actions and words of the characters. The emotions I felt were so connected to the characters that I cried with the sorrow and heartache they felt and the elation as they experienced their love growing and friendships changing...I wanted a happily ever after and got exactly what I wanted - even if I did not know how it would get there. Excited to read what's next in the continuation of the Selection series.

Great series but should be read in a particualar order with companion book.
The series is great but you have to read it in a particular order with the companion book Happily Ever After. Please look below for that because two of the stories from Happily Ever After should be read before The Selection. The second could be read before or after depending upon the reader. The Queen (Happily Ever After Companion Book)The Prince (Happily Ever After Companion Book)The SelectionThe EliteThe Guard (Happily Ever After Companion Book)The Favorite (Happily Ever After Companion Book) Pt 1 This takes place before The OneThe OneThe Favorite (Happily Ever After Companion Book) Pt 2 This takes place during the book The One so better to read after this book is done.Scenes From Celeste (Happily Ever After Companion Book)The Maid (Happily Ever After Companion Book)After the One (the Epilogue) (Happily Ever After Companion Book)Where are they Now? (Happily Ever After Companion Book)The HeirThe Crown

Good storyline
-Comes in a box and was delivered in good conditionBook review-The storyline was good and there was much more action than I thought there would be. The writing style was easy to understand and so following the plot was easy too. I would say they are worth the read if you enjoy dystopian books. There is obviously romance involved too. The last two books (the heir and the crown) did not live up to expectations I had from the first three books so you could buy the first three separately and then decide if you wanted to read the last two. Overall a good series and they are short so are good if you just want a small read instead of committing to something long.

A great 'ordinary girl thrown into a royal world' read.
These books are like the 'the bachalor' with a prince/princess theme. A little bit predictable, but easy to read and enjoyable. There's some twists and turns along the way that are unexpected and tense, With a love triangle that you don't know who's side to be on. Well written. Read a few of the novellas aswell that really add to the books and have read 'the Heir' which I wasn't sure if would be a bit 'samey', but really enjoyed it and can't wait for the rest. A definate read.

Loved the first book.
This was a real mix for me. I really enjoyed the first book and couldn't put it down, however the second was a real chore to read and I found myself growing increasingly irritated with the characters. Unfortunately this continued and in the end I just stopped reading it altogether. A real shame as it started so well and I really wanted to love the rest, but just couldn't.

Couldn't put down
Loved this series! I read on the Kindle and then bought the box set for a friend. Difficult to put down once I got started! The main characters are very likeable. Great book for all ages.
