DEFECTIVE! Otherwise great.
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: Got a FULL REFUND and was told to keep the drums! They acknowledged the defect in my particular drums set and stand behind their product. I fully recommend it.***review below***I've had this drum set for about two months.Very nice drum set! I played the drums a bit when I was in junior high school, and this is a cost effective way to have some fun before deciding if getting a bigger and more expensive kit is worth it.The Good: It's simple to use - just turn it on start playing! It's small and easy to transport. You can use headphones. The Bad: The quality is not what I expected. Literally the day AFTER I could easily return it on Amazon, it started acting up. Only able to attach one short video, but here is a brief description.***One of the pedals cracked. Other reviewers have mentioned various problems with the pedals.***One of the heads (what I think of as the hi-hat) randomly plays a different sound when you hit it. Obviously, this ruins the sound BUT it also throws off my rhythm, so my flow is completely disrupted. Another head does the same thing depending on WHERE you hit it (ie. center vs closer to edge).***On occasion, the whole kit starts making a loud, distorted noise. It resolves when I turn it off and back on once or twice. This is a lot of fun to use. If not for the above-mentioned problems, I'd give it a 5 star rating! Let's see if the company stands behind their product.*They do. FIVE STARS!

Nice sound
This is such a great little drum pad!! 11 year old has been playing with it for DAYS. It has amazing and semi adjustable volume (adjustable meaning if the lid is smacking it then it’s gonna make noise. Great for kids who love making a beat with a quick , comfortable, durable, and easy drum set !! Works great

This set is very good, but has some issues
This set is very good, but has some issues. First the good. I bought this for my 5 year old son, who's been playing drums on the video game Rock Band for several months. The drums here sound very good. Not perfect, but very good. The pads are sensitive and easy to hit. There are two foot pedals; one for the bass drum and one to close the high hat. The internal speaker is very good and should satisfy anyone. The battery is excellent. I think I've charged it once in the month we've owned it. My son only plays it for a few minute at a time, but the fact that we haven't had to charge it again is encouraging. There's also a button called "special" which switches the high-hat and snare drums around. I didn't know why this was important at first, but after playing for a bit it makes sense. It allows you to hit the high-hat with your right hand without having to cross your arms over each other, like what you'd do on a normal drum set. It also makes the two line up to how they would be on Rock Band, so my son can actually play the Rock Band songs on this drum set and have the drums match. The headphone jack works well. If wearing the headset, people can still hear the sticks hitting the pads and the food pedals, but in a bedroom with the door closed, the sound doesn't carry that far. Certainly much better than a real drum or without headphones. Now for the bad. The pad is extremely sensitive and often misfires and plays the wrong sound. It also will occasionally miss a beat, so if you hit the same pad 10 times, maybe 9 of them would sound and 1 would not, which can be annoying. It also has a tendency to make a double-hit sound even if you're only trying to hit the pad once. I would not recommend it for anyone who wanted to perform in front of a group. I wish the device was slightly less sensitive. Also, every drum hit sounds exactly the same regardless of how lightly or strongly you hit it, so you can't make accent or ghost notes. It's not a big deal for beginners though. Lastly, there's no stand so you just have to set it on a small table. Because it lays flat and is not an an angle, it's hard to hold the drum sticks like a normal drum and hit the pads accurately.Overall, I think this is worth the price for anyone who is interested in drumming but doesn't want to commit to an expensive, bulky, noisy drum set. If you really like drumming, this wouldn't satisfy you for long and it's not reliable enough to use in public. If you're comparing this to other models, I think the fact that it comes with it's own speaker and internal battery is a huge bonus. It makes it easy to set up anywhere. Lastly, I think the coolest thing about this is that the skills my son has been learning on Rock Band can actually be translated to this device and he can play real drum beats. Apparently, there's a beginner drum beat that is used in countless songs that's a combination of the high hat, snare, and bass drum, which in Rock band are the yellow, red, and orange drums. Most Rock Band songs use that beat, and so once we used the "special" button to arrange the drums in the same order as Rock Band, my son could immediately play that beat (hint: you also have to keep your left foot on the high hat pedal to make the closed high hat sound). Once he figured that out it was like a light turning on in his head. Now he's learning more complex beats, but it builds off that first one.

Better sound quality than expected
Got this as a Christmas gift for a coworker who teaches drumming on the side. We were all shocked at how great it sounded. The pads are very responsive to being struck, and my coworker had no trouble playing it. He said it will be a good practice set for beginners, and he will use it as a teaching tool.

My five-year-old loves it!
Really great little drum set. It is definitely table-top size. I would venture to say it would just barely comfortably fit on a student’s desk without falling off th me sides, but just barely. The settings on it are fantastic, giving all kinds of different drum sounds to play around with. My five-year-old son has been interested in drums, but I have another baby coming, and drums are LOUD. Not so with these! Because the makers thought of that and installed a volume control that goes from loud enough to hear across the house to quiet enough to play in the same room as other people without annoying them. When my son wants to play me a concert, he cranks up the volume, turns on one of the many demos, and goes wild beating the drums. A metronome is also built into the set, so as he ages and starts to show more interest in the technical aspects of music, the metronome will be an asset. As a music major and teacher myself, I am very pleased with this set. It covers the basics without breaking the bank or my eardrums. My only complaint is that it does not plug into the wall without an adaptor. I use the end of my iPhone charger to plug in the drums, but it’s kind of a pain to switch between a charger and a drum set. Otherwise the product itself is well worth purchasing, especially for kids showing an interest in percussion.
