Now I can remotely control the sprinklers
I have only had this for almost 1 month. Here is what I found: My X2 is not compatible with bluetooth but they stated that so it was not a problem. I used WIFI interface to initially establish the link. I found it easier to setup an account and the Hunter using my laptop. After it was setup I simply added the app to my phone. The entire setup was downloaded to the app and now I control the Hunter with my phone. Read everything when you go to new pages on the app; I read quickly at first only to have to reread the page to find the error in my way. The WIFI also connects to weather stations to help setup you app. For example, one setting I have is to not water if the wind speed is > 19 MPH (why water the lawn next door).

Will constantly drop WiFi; multiple failed wands.
Absolutely terrible product. Both the timer and the WiFi wand. The first wand I purchased could hardly connect either to my phone through Bluetooth or to my WiFi router. If I was lucky enough to connect to WiFi after days of trying, it would only remain connected for a few days then it would drop wifi for weeks. Direct WiFi pairing worked rarely and randomly and Bluetooth connection to my phone was no better. This went on for a year of fighting with the thing until I gave up. I figured it was a bad wand so I purchased another one. It paired successfully through the Bluetooth method on the first try and remained connected for maybe 4 weeks. Once again, the same problems as the old wand arose. The Bluetooth connection to my phone never functioning and no ability to connect to WiFi through its other methods. I have WiFi extenders that provide perfect WiFi coverage to any device near that area. I am probably going to go with an entirely different timer. Waste of money.

Super Smart Upgrade for My Sprinkler System!
The Hunter WAND Smart WiFi Module has been a game changer for managing my irrigation. Setup was easy and painless — the Hydrawise app walked me through connecting via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and even offered options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct for flexible setup. Within minutes, I had full control of my X2 controller from my phone. The remote scheduling features are fantastic. I can adjust watering times and zones without ever going to the controller, and the app’s intuitive interface makes it simple even for non-techy users. I especially love how I can tweak schedules based on changing weather patterns. Since installing the WAND module, I’ve saved time and water — it’s smart, responsive, and reliable. Overall this was a great upgrade to my sprinkler system and definitely worth it if you want convenient remote control and smarter irrigation scheduling!

Setup a Bit Confusing, but a Quality Product Once Installed
4.5 stars (rounded up). So far so good. Hardware installation was a breeze. The instructions were clear, with one exception -- the documentation says to use PIN 0000 or 1234. This causes a failure. What the instructions do NOT tell you is the PIN is displayed on the Hunter X2 box display (not the app), and it shows up in this sequence "XX XXXX," including the space, so one is left wondering is it a 2-digit, 4-digit, or 6-digit PIN. I literally tried all five sequences: 0000, 1234, XX, XXXX, and XX XXXX. The last was one went through just fine. One other important process is to verify you have at good Wi-Fi signal before setting. I did so, and other than the PIN fiasco, setup was a breeze. Using the app (particularly the website) is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. I strongly prefer the web/app interfaces over the X2 control station. I recommend this product.

A pretty tough time with set up, but once done it's been working perfectly
I installed 2 of these for 2 identical Hunter timers on both sides of our house. The first installed, synched and set up fairly easily. It took several tries to get it connected to my wifi but after 3 tries, it finally connected and set up with the Hydrawyse app was easy. The app isn't the most intuitive, but once you understand the terminology (zones vs programs vs schedules), it's very helpful. I love being able to add photos to each zone, as descriptions are sometimes hard to come up with. We don't have rain sensors, but I have it set to monitor and adjust based on local weather forecast. So far, it's been very accurate and has skipped scheduled cycles when it's either rained heavily the day before, is raining now, or is forecast to rain that day. We had very light rain early one morning, and the system still kicked in at 7am b/c no more rain was forecast for the rest of the day. I recently planted some new plants in one of the zones and have been manually starting that zone for extra waterings on top of the scheduled ones. Doing so is so easy using the app. The second module that I attempted to install was a whole different story. It refused to be recognized at all. After spending over an hour trying, I stopped to analyze why this one wasn't working. Looking at both modules, serial number sticker on the first one was on the back of the module and it was printed in dark, crisp, clear lettering. The second module had the serial number printed on a faded sticker that was stuck (but partially lifting at the edges) onto the front of the module. The writing was so faded that it was a bit difficult to read the numbers. Thinking maybe a 1 might be a I or a 6 could be a faded 8, I tried all the different combinations. Still no luck. I finally ended up asking Amazon for an exchange, as I wondered if this had been a return/defective item that I received. That must have been the issue, because when the replacement arrived the sticker was clean and the print was dark and clear. I was able to install/sync it with just 4 connection tries as I did with the first one and it too, has been going strong for over a year now without any issues at all This has been super helpful for us as we travel a lot. We have great neighbors who would stop by to turn off our sprinklers during a rainy week, then turn them on again when the storm system had passed. No need to ask them to do that anymore. Summary: - it takes several attempts to sync/connect it to wifi, but once connected, it works great and has not dropped connection in over a year now - we've had several power outages since installation, and when power is restored, the system restores itself without issue - adjusting, editing or manually starting/stopping operation is simple

Easy to set up and use
Activation as directed. Inserted WAND module, Hunter wall mounted X2 6-station controller requested I push and hold button on WAND module to get a factory reset. Then I chose to use Bluetooth via my iPhone to connect the module to WIFI. Selected my network, entered the password. Module connected. Chose to make up my own watering schedule and had it operating automatically the next morning. You can download the Hydrawise application before you insert the WAND module and enter the serial number by hand or scan.
