I really don't know exactly what I expected. I suppose I didn't expect the spring action, so I was happily surprised by that. I really like this product. I'm trying to ween myself off of cable/satellite TV and plan to use my iPad Mini to watch a lot of TV shows and movies that I would have watched via my satellite service on a TV. I can use this to hold the iPad Mini at any height that is convenient, regardless of what I'm doing. Really, my big plan is to set up my tripod with this "holder" so that I can view the iPad while I eat a meal on a TV tray. I can set up a regular tripod on the floor, or a shorter tripod on a table. This will hold my iPad Mini, but it will also hold my iPhone, which is great. As far as instructions, I didn't have any problem putting it together. It's a very "logical" assembly that most people should be able to figure out. It was easy for me. I was going to upload some photos, but I think the photos that are already available are pretty good representations of the product.

I purchased this mount for use with a 7" Android Tablet and it fits perfectly. I needed a larger screen than my phone for first person viewing of the DJI Phantom Vision 2+ camera.... I was looking for something to securely hold a 7" tablet so that I can keep my hands on my transmitter, so I thought a tripod mount would be ideal. As it turns out, I was able to easily remove the stock clip from the transmitter and replace it with this; it fits perfectly on the stock ball joint. (no tripod required.)The only downside is the tabs that hold the tablet in place... when the tablet isn't mounted, the tabs can slide off easily during transport. Thankfully this comes with 2 sets of tabs.

I bought this tripod mount because the ball system that it uses is the same size as the mount on a DJI Phantom 3 Standard quadcopters phone mount.With this, I was able to use my iPad Mini with my Phantom 3 Standard's transmitter instead of being limited to just my phone.The tripod mount is easy to use, goes together well, and holds the iPad Mini very securely.It comes with several "arm" pieces that you can use to adjust it's size slightly to make sure that it fits your tablet correctly.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

It works and is effective for casual use, but if you intend to use this often, I found the grasp and the tilt adjustment to be a little weak, especially with the added weight of a case such as an OtterBox, which I keep mine in. It still works, but it's not as durable in the adjustment and tends to slip a little if moving during use, or in pressing near the corners of the touch screen with anymore than the lightest of touches.

Not sure if it's my tripod or the piece itself, but I had to modify the legs and make the front one shorter in order to get this thing perfectly vertical. I can use it in a landscape feature fine, but when in portrait, the ipad its the bottom section of the tripod base. Regardless, worth what I spent and I can adjust elsewhere. Happy with my purchase.

This is well made and has several additional devices to help in case the unit slips. They obviously listened to negative feedback and provided an adequate solution. If you take photos with the high-res (rear-mounted) camera, the bars block a little of the screen, which has to face the rear. This is no problem.

I purchased this mount to use my N7 on my DJI Phantom Vision drone controller. It's light and fits onto the factory mount. But it's not very strong. Because I have this mounted on an RC controlled transmitter where it's easy to bump into things. It does not take much effort for the N7 to come free of the mount.

Received a zip-loc bag with random parts. There were NO assembly instructions included. Parts are TOO SMALL to hold anything bigger than a cell phone. This product will NOT mount a tablet for video/tripod purposes. Also, the product pictured is NOT what is sent... maybe some other variation of this, but it most certainly will NOT hold a 7-9" tablet. The twist around the pivot/swivel ball doesn't event tighten. I needed a tripod mount adapter for my tablet to video a presentation class project due TOMORROW. Now I have no means to mount my tablet to video my presentation. Seriously... I can't get a refund fast enough for this waste of money. And while I wait for my refund to be processed, my money is being held up pending the return... so I can't even order something else.

The hooks to grip the iPad/Phone are slotted into grooves and in the attached photograph I have removed the two hooks on the RHS to show the fitting. The internal spring (elastic band?) pulling the hooks together is very strong and so if the device is used to hold an iPad Mini they are well extended and there is a lot of force exerted on these hooks which are quite small - see photo - and being plastic I would not expect to last for too long. The clips for the mobile phone are probably more robust but these are no use to me as the unit obscures the lens on my Nokia 520. I have used this holder successfully in a mini tripod, but it was not very successful in my full sized tripod as the unit is compact and does not hold the iPad away from the tripod screw base. As a result I had to adjust the tripod to a very steep angle, which only just worked. One way round this problem would be to use a tripod extender bar and it would have been good if one had been included.In summary this accessory just about works for an iPad mini and would work for mobile phones with a camera lens in the top edge (eg iPhone). However, as it is made out of plastic I do not expect it to last too long, and I am very careful about how and where I use it as there is the possibility that the hooks might snap and the iPad fall out. If it had been made out of metal, rather than plastic, and if a tripod extender bar had been included it would be a nice piece of kit and well worth the money. However as it is made of plastic I am not confident about its durability and would not recommended it.

Cheap but goes the job. To be frank, not the best quality in the world to hold your iPad. But the trip so far is strong.

This is an amazing product , take not that the only thing I didnt realise is that is dose not come with the trypod stand so make sure you read the description befor you buy. This came in 4 days when I order it so I was happy about that it excellent For holding my I pad mini.

It's OK - It does what it says it will - but at a bargain price
