Impressive little controller.
I’m an experienced professional DJ who uses a full size Numark controller. I bought this for my Grandson who has expressed an interest in music mixing. I opened it when it arrived to check it out. It was cute and looked like a miniature version of my pro Numark controller. I connected it to one of my laptops and after tweaking a couple of settings it was working perfectly with Virtual DJ. This little mixer is very impressive. It does most of what my expensive pro unit can do. I had fun testing it out. It has a surprisingly good feel for being an inexpensive unit. Honestly, I could go out tonight and do an actual DJ show with this and it would not sound much different than it’s big brother. This is NOT a toy. I am very impressed. my Grandson is going to LOVE it!

Good enough for beginners I guess
I'm not "technically" a beginner, but I'm so far removed from mixing I might as well be. Back in college (early 2000's) I bought a used set of technics turntables and a vestax 2 channel mixer and got into Trancecore/freeform in its early stages of existing. I didn't DJ professionally at all I just enjoyed the mixing aspect of music. I probably shouldn't have bought it I just treated it as a hobby. As a hobby it was quite expensive. I just now decided to get back into mixing as a hobby and went for one of the cheaper options. This is my first foray into MIDI controllers for computers and so far I'm enjoying it. I tried all the pure software options and it left me wishing for hardware, which I now have due to purchasing the Numark Partymix. Reading the other reviews about Virtual DJ it left me curious because when I purchased it came with "Serato Lite", which I tried for a bit but I don't really like it due to the lack of available setup options (audio, etc...). I purchased the home license of Virtual DJ because it matches the Numark controller perfectly. After one evening session I am really enjoying it, just gotta get the hang of exactly how I want to route the Audio (directly through the hardware or from the computer, because if you split it it clearly causes audio-sync issues). I left it 4 stars because of the software licensing issue (Serato just doesn't provide enough for me, if it included a full home license for Virtual DJ that would be better), otherwise the hardware feels nice, the sliders/knobs have a nice "weight" to them that I almost expected a more plasticky feel due to the low cost. Buttons feel nice and clicky.

Some Real Feedback on this Controller
So I know the Party Mix has been out a while, but no one seems to have written any useful reviews outside of Amazon and so I had to figure out a lot myself. I started with a Numark Mixtrack with an external sound card, but I decided to give it a proper solution a try when I saw this on sale for $90. Setup and integration into my VDJ 8.2 build was simple, or at least until I tried to maximize efficiency. I remapped the controller by making CUE the shift key, then giving most some keys a second function (ex. Pitch reset for sync, filter for gain, etc). Coding was quite easy after I got used to the style used, although it still takes a while to achieve the desired results at times. As for the product itself, it's great build quality for something that inexpensive, although I would have liked a few changes: Smoother knobs / crossfader, a separate USB cable, proper pads (not clicking bottons), and touch sensitive jogs (not that you can scratch on it to begin with, but I tried to make it work). Additionally, being able to map the rear lights more easily would be much appreciated, and the "program 3" that supposedly properly flashes to the beat (opposed to with the bpm) seems to be voltage controlled or however most circuits of that type are run, because it's usually just a solid light at higher volumes. Despite the flaws, I don't want to be comparing it to any of the Numark Mixtrack controllers or my buddy's Pioneer DDJ-SX. This is meant to be a controller for beginners, and although I tweaked it to milk the most I could from the Party Mix, it was almost a humbling experience because I began focusing less on effects and more on the basics I had honestly forgotten while working on the MIDI mapping and my playlist edits. I'll add to this as I go, and I'll try to answer questions when possible.

Before I opened the box , it was very light and came in big box surrounded it, excited and keen to try my new DJ controller I did have a numark 2 channel mixer before and trusted the confidence in the technology Numark has come a long way since 20 ago I opened it up and checked through everything and numark has certainly packaged it well, What you get , instructions a mixer and usb connection which just makes it plug and play Great for beginners who just wanna start out, get quickly set up. As it headache to learn and if don’t know what you’re doing, for I been DJ ing and producing music and singing for 30 years and I use this to connect it to my virtual DJ software, which I downloaded first, I suggest getting DJ controller which basically syncs to the Virtual DJ software you got to honest I only have used Virtual DJ as it does everything you want I’m very pleased with it so far.. I used some of the drum pads and audio samples that already came with .. once you mastered beat matching you add samples and loops which gives a little extra effect to your mixes I love the lighting at the front of the mixer and it has simple switch to have what lighting patterns you wish to make it feel more in a party mix mood Goes well with my DJ rig set and lighting right and does not take up much space it sit nicely in front of my laptop stand, pictured above But you have 30 days free trial with virtual DJ ..don’t be put of by Subscription if you plan to use it for business for $19 a month, it be so worth the money, just a $49 for home use what’s really helpful if you ever get stuck, there so much to explore in virtual DJ and helpful videos on YouTube and in virtual DJ As I be using it for business s well my live-streams which my online business As an experience DJ and music producer for the price of the product is worth the money great for DIgital DJ generation As it sits nicely on my 4ft Gorrila Dj Rig and table, perfect as I also wanted to connect the audio out to my VMX 1000 professional DJ mixer to a line input, this so I can play CDs as well my vinyl still to test the quality of the controller, yes it certainly gives a great impact What I suggest is that to get the same skin as the numark DJ controller in virtual DJ which the best software as it allows you to do video mp4s normal videos like karaoke or other, it fantastic bit of kit totally worth the money But if you’re just starting out or upgrading to better software, this still great stuff.. I buy my Lasted Remixes and dance hits from Cd pool .com if you have no music or looking to get new So buy one today , don’t delay Summary, the great for my budget before upgrading and expansion of buying CD j s, so I feel that caught up with the Digital world if DJ ing , which saves your back to carrying heavy music CDS around and vinyl definitely easy to use
