ATS 47RE 48RE GM Solenoid Block Conversion Kit Fits 1996-2007 5.9L Cummins

It absolutely solved all my shifting issues. Love the fact that it has a beefy GM solenoid, not sure why they never made them strong like these from factory.Amazing quality, very very happy!

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 48RE transmission. I should note that I do a fair amount of fifth wheel RV towing. It was shutter shifting between first and second gear regardless if I was towing or not. This ATS conversion kit, along with a BD Diesel Pressure Transducer, fixed the problem. I have driven over 2,000 miles since doing the conversion and my transmission is shifting like new again. The conversion is plug and play with basic tools.Update April 2022: 60,000 miles later I thought I was have the same symptoms again. Turns out it was actually my transmission’s intermediate band being way out of adjustment. Crawled under the vehicle in the driveway, performed the adjustment, and the transmission is shift perfectly again. Check your band adjustment if you develop a shifting problem after you have already installed the ATS conversion.

Bought this item ATS solenoid March of 2024. My transmission rarely went into drive it stayed in 1st and 2nd gear. I put the ATS solenoid on my 2004 2500 5.9 dodge diesel. Following all the instructions on the ATS Youtube video. I also changed the filter and torqued the bolts correctly and new ats+4 fluid. Truck ran great until May 2025 check engine lite came on and transmission only starts off in 2nd gear now, it won't go into 1st gear automatically. I have to put it in 1st manually. I checked the fluid, a little low, I added some, perfect level it made no difference. Got code for crank sensor put one on no help. I got codes p0868 and p1757 low transmission pressure and high governor (solenoid) pressure. Here's the sad part I think I got rid of the original part that I took out in 2024, I should have saved the bracket. NOW I am forced to buy another ATS GM solenoid. MORAL of the story save the old parts and screws and brackets. So you can buy OEM solenoid and transducer add to bracket and screw it back on.

I installed the new solenoid and block , no proble them for 2 days and then the check engine light came back on. The jury is still out.

Definitely better than the dodge ones, I would go threw the dodge ones every 6 months it seemed like after I upgraded and built up my transmission, After I switched to this, no more problems. Anyone with a dodge truck should buy this. Easy install. I regret not converting this sooner.
