Blazn Burner Ceramic Coal Basket by Hookatec

Holds up great. Not sure what else to say about it, I bought it because after a year or so, the metal basket that came with my Blazn burner began to bend and splinter and crack, and I wanted something that would not do that. So if you have that problem, buy this and it'll fix it. It's more expensive than a replacement metal basket, but it won't need replacing. And in another year or two I'm guessing the metal basket will be hard to find, whereas my ceramic basket will still be working just great.The only con I can come up with is that the slats are further apart than the original basket and so it's difficult to place coals evenly, I have to angle them or they slip into an opening and sit angled up. Not hard to work around, and I can still fit more coals in the basket than I would ever want to put on my bowl (I typically do two coals at a time, three if I'm using a big bowl, and I could easily fit four coals in this basket without trouble), so it's not really much of an issue for me.

I purchased the Blazn Burner as a gift for a friend a year ago and it's the perfect tool for lighting natural coals. Like others have said, the basket that shipped with the Blazn Burner warped relatively quickly and needed to be replaced. I bought this ceramic basket as another gift for the same person and it really has been a great upgrade.Others have said that it needs another slat to hold coals in place. When I purchased this basket, the image had 4 slats, but I received one with 5 slats, so I think this problem has been solved. We use Coco Nara coals and have never had a coal slip through the grate.

This coal holder is a welcome upgrade from the original holder that comes with the Blazn Burner. Since having my burner i've bought 3 metal trays that seem to last only a few months at best before they begin to break. I've had this tray for about 3 months, maybe longer, and it is holding up well. The bars are spaced wider than I prefer which seems to cause coals to lay side ways in most cases, but it is still better than stock. The little feet at the bottom allow the tray to rest perfectly on the burner providing a more secure fit.

While the one I was shipped was shattered. When I acquired a replacement it works perfectly and unlike the basket included with the Burner, it doesn't deform or rust. SUPER durable, but it IS ceramic so you'd want to be careful about having the item shipped.

This really should come standard with the Blazn Burner. The cost of the device to have the metal one melt after a few months of regular use is ridiculous.I'm giving this 4 stars because it really needs another bar, but it works with Coco Mazayas if I balance them right. I also believe that it will last a lot longer than the standard metal basket.
