Good book, Great Summaries
Great book. It's not necessarily the "bible" on building electrical systems, but it does provide very good insight. Chapters and topics are relatively short without getting into too many mathematical equations. The chapter on harmonics is okay, but it may leave you confused a bit if you're not familiar with the math of Fourier series. Most engineers are familiar with this, though. Either way, the author does a good job of explaining the consequences of design choices, but I found this book came up wanting in terms of some of the explanations leading to the consequences of the design choice; e.g. the discussion on the mathematics of harmonics. The book has a large portion dedicated to illumination design, which is helpful. Overall, a good book with which one can be satisfied to a point. Don't look to this book for delving into the details of concepts too much; rather, it provides good summaries of topics.

Great Teaching Tool
I used this text book for three Building Electrical Systems Design classes at Georgia Tech in the mid 1990's. I was fortunate enough to have Dr. John Matthews as the instructor for the courses. This book, his courses and his influence in my education made selecting a career path a no-brainer. Over the past twenty years, I have referred to this book often. It has been instrumental in training and instructing young electrical engineering co-ops, interns and new-hires in my department. Even though some of the lighting technologies are now obsolete in the construction, the fundamentals on lighting calculations remain solid. His straight-forward, real-world approach to power systems design and analysis makes it easy to learn and to instruct others.

Shipped fast
This company delivered on their word. It was fast as my friend that ordered from someone else expedient. The condition was exactly how it was advertised.
