Good, well-behaved general-purpose ink
I kind of grew up on Sheaffer inks, starting long ago with the old Sheaffer Peacock Blue, and though in recent years I've been seduced by some of the more exotic ones now available, I still think Sheaffer makes excellent all-purpose inks. They're safe for virtually any fountain pen, won't stain or do weird things to the sac or converter or feed, and they're easy to clean out of the pen. Sheaffer is also one of the few Western traditional ink makers to keep a fairly large number of colours available. This blue is a nice standard medium-dark blue with a hint of purple, and it's very well behaved - generally won't feather or bleed on most papers. It has zero waterproofness however. The Sheaffer green, black, brown, and red are also good inks, though I find Sheaffer black, though it's a lovely dark black, to bleed more than the others. (The other Sheaffer colours are no doubt equally good, I just haven't tried them.) These are also fantastic mixing inks. Mix Sheaffer green and black 2:1 for a gorgeous nearly-black green, or mix this blue 1:1 with Waterman purple for Binder Burgundy (also known as Diamine Syrah), or mix Waterman purple with Sheaffer black 3:1 or 2:1 for a beautiful aubergine dark purple, or mix Sheaffer blue with Pilot/Namiki blue 1:1 for a more water-resistant, richer-looking blue ink, or mix Sheaffer brown and black about 2:1 or 3:1 for a deep dark brown. Etc. I think Sheaffer or Waterman inks will mix with nearly all normal inks (i.e. maybe not some Noodler's) safely, but of course test them before putting in a pen. The ones I mentioned are quite safe, I've used them a lot.) I love my Japanese Pilot and Sailor inks, but Sheaffer inks are still great, reliable basics for anybody with a fountain pen.

Just as wonderful as you remember!
Like so many other kids who started elementary school in the mid-1960's, I grew up using a Sheaffer Cartridge Pen. My teachers required us to use blue ink, and I remember my favorite being Sheaffer Washable Blue. I recently found my old school pens in the back of a drawer, and each of them had an old dried-up ink cartridge in it. After cleaning the nibs and cartridges, I ordered a bottle of Sheaffer Deluxe Blue and used a blunt syringe to fill my cartridges, wondering if the ink would live up to my fond memories. Happily, it did! Deluxe Blue seems to be the same shade as the old Washable Blue, and it flows just as smoothly and dries just as quickly as I remember. It's a lovely, medium blue that shades nicely and cleans up easily. Furthermore, at 50 ml for less than $15.00, it's a great value. Very highly recommended!

It's blue!
Ink writes well. However, it's not blue/black, it's definitely blue. I am not displeased with the ink but I wanted others to know that it's blue before they buy.

I like this ink so much better than Noodler's blue
I've tried and searched around, and found this ink (Sheaffer Skrip Blue). I like this ink so much better than Noodler's blue, which was my first blue mistake. Some things I was looking for in a blue ink were that it did not feather or bleed terribly, did not have a great deal of shading, which unlike other fountain pen users I really DO NOT like shading in the ink I use, and also this color tone is just where I like it. Not too dark or too light of a color. Also note I had to switch to fine nib for optimal performance in my Jinhao X450 pen, other wise it would write too dark and too scratchy on my jot notebook paper. I have looked at some other brands, I don't think any of them will appease me more than this one, so I gave this one a 5 star rating!

It flows good, and it's drying time doesn't seem to be ...
Sheaffer Ink ~ Black > I purchased 50ml bottle of Blue/Black and a 50ml of Black. The blue/black dries a little too light to suit me, but this Black is dark after it dries. I've used it in my Sheaffer FP, Parker, and a Jinhao X750. It flows good, and it's drying time doesn't seem to be too long, but I haven't timed it. Best of all, it's inexpensive. There are many inks on the market, with whatever color suits your fancy and wallet, but for me this black works well. Very inexpensive per ml.

Classic ink; colors mis-packaged.
Classic ink for fountain pens. That said, the outer packaging stated Blue Black which is what I ordered but the bottle inside was blue. Was going to order the blue eventually anyway but wanted the blue black first. Also the labeling and packaging is different than what is shown in the listing.

Muy lindo color de tinta. Negro azulado precioso. La uso en una Waterman Expert, nunca ha secado, fluye perfectamente, no atasca ni riega. Muy buena calidad de tinta, recomendada

Shaeffer Skrip inks have always been one of the better quality fountain pen inks available although not especially expensive. Unlike some brands, it is very free-flowing and non-clogging in any brand of pen. In the past, it was almost always Parker's ink except when it was unavailable and when it may then be whatever else the retailer would have. It was by using different brands that differences between them became evident and brand allegiance also changed after which it was mostly either Shaeffer or Mont Blanc's inks and never again Parker. Colours also vary between brands, even when supposedly identical, but it was almost always blue (occasionally blue-black) that was used and Shaeffer's blue a particular favourite equal to that from Mont Blanc. Having not used a fountain pen for some years, it was recently decided to again use one, hence the choice of this ink. Unlike in years past, the bottle is now plastic, essentially unbreakable and is shaped to help draw ink even when very nearly empty.
