This is a whole heap of grotesque fun, if you are in the mood for it. Comedy is virtually impossible to get right for everyone. And yet this fusion of body horror and overplayed humour is very enjoyable. I say ‘overplayed’ – that is not strictly accurate. Only the monstrous are encouraged to ‘heighten’ their performances – the townsfolk are allowed to play things fairly straight.A small town is transformed into a zombie’s paradise by an unspecified meteor landing. First to be affected is Grant (Michael Rooker), brutish husband of heroine Starla (Elizabeth Banks), who undergoes a gradual, hideous but deliberately ridiculous transformation into the hive-mind, whereby all future infected people share his mindset. Conveniently, this means that when (what has become of) Grant is destroyed, all the others are too. But there is a whole horror-show to get through before that even becomes a possibility. The numerous visual effects and their designers do an incredible job creating a convincing society descent into bloody chaos. Director and Writer James Gunn indulges his story with a growing sense of perversity – with truly appalling tragic moments accompanied by cheesy love songs which ensure we are never invited to take things seriously.

Amusingly Awesome
I love this movie. It's ridiculous and makes no apologies for it. Nathan Fillon is great as the Sheriff who realises his small town is being overrun by aliens and the situations they get into are so over the top that it's awesome! One of my favourite comedy horrors of all time, I originally saw it on tv and loved it so much that I had to own the DVD and became a fan of Nathan himself. Good acting, funny script, great movie. If you're just looking for an amusing movie that doesn't make you think, this is the movie for you!

Fabulous Fillions scary classic
A fabulous horror flick, some great actors in this film, the ever brilliant Nathan Fillion, the superb Gregg Henry, a wonderful Elizabeth Banks and lovely Tania Saulnier, not to mention the galactic Michael Rooker. You can't go far wrong if Nathan Fillion is in the cast and he leads the rag bag tag of survivors against the alien parasite that is infecting his small town. Some great chases, some truly jumpy moments, throw in some comedy and you have one of the best horrors films on the big screen.Buy it!

Good entertainment
I really enjoyed this film. I love zombie films and although nowhere in the same league as Romero, it is not a bad film. Decent special fx with a good story. I would compare it to The Faculty with Elijah Wood, but The Faculty is definitely better. Others are classing it a comedy horror, but I would just say, not a serious horror. Worth a watch.

Slithering into your heart
This film is entirely what you will be expecting. It does not try to hide behind any falsehoods of seriousness. Slither is a creature movie that enjoys taking the mick out of itself and pulls you along for the ride. If you enjoy films like Tremors and Critters, you'll like this.

Bit of silliness.
A wee bit silly but on the whole a thoroughly enjoyable film. Worth watching for a laugh. Storyline is not hard to comprehend. Delivery was also very prompt.
