Having used super market sponges all my life, these took some getting used to. The texture and shape are quite different, but I’m so glad I made the switch. The reduction in plastic content is amazing. My son used to play with a new sponge and leave a trail of flakes behind, but this doesn’t happen anymore. They are definitely not as durable as supermarket sponges, but if you’re looking to reduce the plastic content they’re the way to go.

*please excuse the dirty sink I was repotting my plants* I read the reviews and was quite curious and nervous especially because of the price so I thought I would wait a month or so before reviewing. This product was so great I’m still on my first sponge!! I just stick it in the wash when it starts to smell with my tea towels and cleaning cloths. It’s so much better than normal sponges! Great absorbency, doesn’t scratch up any metals, eco friendly, soft, and amazing quality. It is hard when you first get it like most sponges but it gets soft with hot water and sponge, much like a scrub daddy. But this is better and it is far more sustainable and long lasting!!!

Delighted to have found these scrub sponges which can be disposed with food waste once they are finished with. They are tough and easy to clean with and last for as long (if not longer) than non eco sponges that we were previously using. Occasionally some of the white string parts on the top come off when cleaning but these are easy to rinse off. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for an eco switch to dish washing. The packaging is also disposable in a food waste bin.

The scrub part of this sponge seems quite effective, though I have only used it half a dozen times. I like that it is not plastic so eco friendly. A little stiff to squeeze out but apart from that I am a convert and won’t buy the old type again.

I am on my 4th pack of these sponges. The first two were perfect, each sponge worked for a long time. Starting with the 3rd pack, every sponge starts coming apart quickly and the scoring pad falls off. I thought it was a glitch and bought again, but the sponges in the 4th pack disintegrate quickly as well. Perhaps something has changed in the manufacturing process but the quality got worse.

I've been trying to reduce the amount of plastic I purchase over the last year and as those terrible supermarket scouring sponges break down into micro-plastics, I bought these hoping for a great alernative. My husband is less eco-conscious and has a VERY low opinion of most of the eco-friendly options on the market, in comparison to their plastic-containing alternatives, so I introduced him to them pretty much expecting complaints. (Just to clarify so I'm not bad-mouthing him on the internet, he does care about the environment, he just doesn't like wasting money on products that don't work, and feels most eco-friendly options don't work as well). He wasn't overly impressed when I showed them to him but he agreed to give them a try anyway. Well, we're now a good few weeks down the line and he's admitted they're really good! They might not stay intact as well as the plastic-containing sponges but he said they get the dirt and grime off brilliantly, they're super-absorbent and are lasting far better than he could have imagined. In all, he's told me I can keep buying these instead of the grim supermarket ones. And since his opinion has been changed by these sponges, I reckon anyone's could be! If you're debating it, give them a try. Better for the environment and they work really well. You can thank me later. ;0)
