Took me a minute to figure out how to lower these, but once I did, they work very smoothly. The hooks are not big enough to go around the metal bars in a grow tent, so I looped the string and hooked around the string. These do add about 5 inches, so you'll need to re configure your grow light hangers if you need the extra height in your tent. For the price, I will definitely buy more when I need them. Very happy with purchase.

These are fine. Strong enough to hang a large light.

These make raising and lowering my grow lights a breeze. Glad I purchased them. I do wish I didn’t have to stand on a chair to unlock the string to lower them. Also, would have been nice if they had come with instructions.

these work as advertised BUT the ones I received had PLASTIC GEARS and not metal. I ordered some from an On-Line Auction Site for half the price of these (and got 2 sets, 4 total) and they had the metal gears is how I know what the metal ones look like.....

I would definitely check weights before ordering. Fine for my small led but wouldn't even consider hanging anything heavier
