Start of a Lifetime Investment.
I gave this to my grandson for Christmas. He was 18 months old at the time. It became his favorite toy and he plays with it daily. For his second birthday I added more tracks. I anticipate we will continue to add Brio as he grows since you can never outgrow Brio. It lasts for years and one of my adults sons still has his Brio set from his own childhood.

Love it!
This train set is great, man the little train has some power. Does burn through batteries good though if you have a baby/tot that just loves to let it run. all. day. long. We changed the battery at least twice in the last month and a half. The train will stay on when you click it on (which that is a cool feature too by just pressing it down to turn on/off). Our one year old daughter, who this is for, figured it out before we could. Nope, there was no instructions on how to turn the train on! Ha but there is on how to replace the battery. So when that train goes under your couch and under another piece of furniture that exceeds your arm’s length… that buzzing will become your days annoyance if you don’t get it immediately aside from your child pointing and alerting you before trying to crawl under furniture themselves from it. I would buy this train a hundred times over. I am considering getting my daughter just more trains from Brio. She could care less about the track. She enjoyed pretending to be Godzilla every time we managed to compete the build. My dog also enjoyed the wooden tracks as chew toys. Heads up for those who have dogs who love to chew.

Comes with 2 car train set and track can be extended with ramps
It's a nice little set that doesn't take up much space and can be extended across the whole room if you want. It comes with 4 ramps for the train to ride up on the tracks or just make it one piece little circle to go round and round. Great Nana was very sick but wanted us to get her great grandson a train set for Christmas. So we found this one to be affordable for her and looks good. Our son wasn't even 1 at the time but has had it for months and it's still intact. The train and tracks get thrown around and pressed on and chewed on but it goes right back together good as new. Except the wheels might be a little warped but it still works fine. I just wished it came with more than 1 extra train car so we bought another 3 car train set to go with it that goes forward and backwards. Amazoning!

Amazing Set!
The media could not be loaded. I got this for my little girl who loves her big brother’s trains. My favorite feature is how the elevated tracks snap into place to prevent accidentally knocking the track down!

I was glad we got this now it is the perfect age ...
We bought this for my two year old for his birthday and it was SUCH A HIT! We are delayed now in the mornings because every day he needs to play "push da button trains" I was thinking that the trains would be a really labor intensive toy for us parents but really we set up the tracks again every once in a while and he loves to just set it on the track and watch it go and then stop and start it. He also is practicing taking the tracks apart and putting them back together again. I was glad we got this now it is the perfect age for it.

Real user review
Well made toddler and up wood train set. 1.5 year old age Indicated is too young in my opinion. If your child likes trains then just a train is more appropriate. If they are still at the stage where they just want to grab things to carry around and likely will not leave the set assembled, I suggest either lots of patience because they will continually take it apart or just wait until they have more appreciation for a train “set” and interest in watching the train go around and building the tracks. My 2.5 year old is appropriate age and a year ago this would not be a good toy. My 14 month old is taking it apart at every opportunity and I do not see him being of age to use as intended by 1.5 either. The tracks rather loosely interlock and do not snap or fasten. Bridge supports could hold better...tracks slip up after a little movement which is going to happen when kids are playing with it. The train in this set is weak! Mine also does not turn off and I am currently looking for contact info to return just the train. It’s a children’s starter set so with that in mind it meets expectations. Durable, expandable, not perfect but not junk.

Great quality, lots of fun
We bought this for my toddler and we’re very happy with the purchase. Honestly we have more fun with it than she does at this age (18m) and we’ve bought more sets for ourselves to play with.
